Giants Predicted To Take Their Offense to the Next Level by Adding QB-WR Duo of the Future Early in 2025 NFL Draft

The New York Giants made a glaring mistake, choosing to extend Daniel Jones instead of Saquon Barkley. Today, Jones is a free-agent quarterback, while Barkley is a Super Bowl champion and came just 100 yards short of the record for the most rushing yards in a single season in NFL history.

After a dreadful 2024 season, the Giants now have a chance to reshape their roster with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. While they might not return to contention immediately, they can lay the foundation for a competitive roster for years to come.

Giants Projected to Rebuild Offense in NFL Draft

On offense, the Giants’ biggest bright spot is wide receiver Malik Nabers, who had a breakout 2024 season. But adding more weapons — and a quarterback — is critical for the team’s long-term success. That’s where Reese Decker of PFSN believes the draft comes into play.

In his latest mock draft, Decker projects Shedeur Sanders to fall to the Giants at No. 3 overall. With the relationship he already shares with head coach Brian Daboll, there could be a natural fit. Decker lays out two key reasons why Sanders could thrive in New York.

First, the intangibles: “The son of ‘Prime Time’ Deion Sanders, Shedeur has many of the traits and the pedigree to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL, along with the personality to thrive in the Big Apple. He’s no stranger to the spotlight or the weight of lofty expectations. In fact, he craves it.”

Beyond his confidence and leadership, Sanders put up an impressive season with Colorado. Throwing for 4,137 yards and 37 touchdowns, he completed 74% of his passes—showcasing elite efficiency.

“Sanders has a live arm capable of layering throws with pinpoint accuracy and precision. His strong, balanced lower body allows him to fend off pressure and deliver accurate off-platform throws. Whether operating in rhythm or improvising off-schedule, Sanders excels.”

Decker believes Sanders would be an ideal fit for the Giants. “His pocket mobility and ability to extend plays with his legs, paired with his toughness and grit, make him an ideal fit for the Big Blue.”

But Decker’s plan for the Giants doesn’t stop there. With their second-round pick, No. 34 overall, he has them selecting Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III.

“Luther Burden III is versatile and capable of stretching the field with ease. His smooth acceleration, precise route running, and exceptional body control make him a constant threat. For the first time in a while, the Giants may finally be on the right track … maybe.”

Of course, everything hinges on how draft night at Lambeau Field unfolds. But if the Giants follow Decker’s blueprint, they could walk away with a solid foundation to rebuild for the future.
