While the New York Giants may have finally found an elite wide receiver, their quarterback woes have continued since drafting Daniel Jones as heir to Eli Manning.
Jones underwhelmed during his time with New York after being the sixth overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft — so much so that the Giants parted ways with him mid-season. They turned to backups Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito, and Tim Boyle to conclude the 2024 season (none of which seem to have starting QB potential in the NFL). Now, with several opportunities to make something happen via the 2025 NFL Draft, what will they choose?

How the Giants Can Add a Potential Franchise QB in Round 1
Currently, the Giants select third in the opening round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, PFSN believes they may trade around to select seventh and 31st instead. Following a trade with the New York Jets, Justin Lewis also predicts some moves may occur late in the first round, much to the favor of Giants fans, as he highlighted in his most recent PFSN 2025 NFL mock draft.
“In a weak quarterback class, there is potential for Jaxson Dart to go even higher. The Giants appear to have strong interest in Dart as they have looked for stability at the position since another Ole Miss quarterback led them to two Super Bowl victories. Eli Manning remains involved with the Giants since his retirement and is a fan of the Rebel senior.
“Dart had a prolific college career, breaking most of Manning’s passing records at Ole Miss. His bowl game performance and time at the Senior Bowl have caused him to shoot up some draft boards. His deep-ball touch is one of the best in this class, while his grit and athleticism make him a polarizing prospect.”
Dart and His Dazzling 2024 Campaign With the Rebels
Lewis paired Dart at No 31 in New York with another offensive star they drafted at No. 7 after the Ole Miss QB had one of the best seasons among college QBs in 2024. Specifically, the way the 6’2″ QB ended the year impressed plenty of NFL faithful.
During Ole Miss’ 2025 Gator Bowl contest against the Duke Blue Devils, Dart threw 35 passes, completing 27 for a 77.1% completion rating. He had no turnovers and passed for 404 yards along with four touchdowns. He also added 43 rushing yards on 12 carries.
How Dart Fits in With a Reformed Giants Offense
Despite the rough season in 2024, the Giants offense took steps toward being elite by adding a few key young pieces. Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. emerged as the lead back by pumping out numerous 100+ yard performances.

Along with Tracy, it appears the Giants have found their receiver of the future in Malik Nabers. The LSU product grabbed 109 balls this year for 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. This includes his outburst against the Indianapolis Colts where he tallied 171 yards through the air and two scores.
Potentially adding Dart to the mix of young talent that New York has already built makes the future finally look bright for a struggling Giants franchise. His abilities to throw the deep ball and escape the pocket effectively could pair incredibly with the skill sets of Tracy and Nabers.
