All signs are pointing to veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers not being under center for the New York Jets next season. If the Jets are indeed ready to move on after just one full campaign together, Rodgers is left with two routes for his future. He can either call it a career at 41 years old or allow the Jets to find a trade partner for him.
Assuming he opts for the latter, it’s hard to say how many suitors and the type of suitors Rodgers will attract. He’s a future Hall of Famer, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise if larger market organizations, even in the same state, pick up the phone regardless of their standing in the league.

New York Giants Predicted To Land Aaron Rodgers in Shocking Blockbuster Trade
The New York Giants have a plethora of voids in their roster on both sides of the ball. However, it’s most apparent the team cannot enter next season with a QB room of Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito. Perhaps that’s where the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft comes in.
The Giants are often predicted to land either Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, but given their history at quarterback since Eli Manning left, would it be wise to start a rookie in Week 1? That’s where Rodgers comes into play.
Yardbarker predicts the Giants will acquire Rodgers via trade in hopes of putting some wins on the board in the immediate future.
“It remains to be seen if Rodgers will retire this offseason, but he probably couldn’t resist another starting opportunity in the spotlight,” Yardbarker’s Seth Trachtman wrote. “The Giants are desperate to win now after retaining Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen, and Rodgers couldn’t even have to sell real estate to go from the Jets to Giants.”
It’s rather obvious Rodgers is on the decline, as he slotted in at No. 21 in PFSN’s QB+ metric. He finished the campaign leading the Jets to a 5-12 record with 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
The most worrying part about Rodgers joining the Giants would be his lack of receiving threats. Except for star rookie WR Malik Nabers, New York has arguably the worst weapon room in the NFL, which is why it ranked No. 31 in PFSN’s Offense+ stat.
Another route for Rodgers is to join another big-market franchise in the Las Vegas Raiders, as predicted by PFSN’s Ben Rolfe.
“There aren’t many free agent options that would transform a team into an instant challenger. [Pete] Carroll may think he can do it with Russell Wilson, but that would be a risk,” Rolfe wrote. “Rodgers, though, could be available for a trade and potentially make Vegas a challenger.”
It’s clear if Rodgers decides to stick around the league for another season, he won’t want to step out of the spotlight.
