Giants Icon Tiki Barber Goes Off on Tom Brady, Pokes Holes in NFL Legend’s Daniel Jones Take

    Published on

Tom Brady received flak from Tiki Barber over his comments on the Daniel Jones situation during the Thanksgiving matchup in Week 13.

The NFL world was taken by storm when the Giants released their quarterback, Daniel Jones, after six years of being with the franchise.

Jones was a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and signed a massive $160M contract with the Giants in March of 2023 before being released in November of 2024.

The Jones/Giants separation was the talk of the town, sparking reactions from various team members, analysts, and fans. Most recently, seven-time Super Bowl champ Tom Brady triggered a debate on the internet following his analysis of the situation.

Giants Icon Tiki Barber Takes a Bold Jab at Tom Brady Over Daniel Jones/Giants Remarks

During the Thanksgiving showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants, Brady issued a statement about Jones and how he handled the situation with the Giants, which wasn’t very well accepted by analysts and fans.

Brady said that Jones’ way of handling the situation was a lot different from how he would’ve handled it, considering how the Giants committed to Jones and how maintaining the trust and respect of his teammates would’ve been a priority.

He compared Jones’ situation with his college experience, noting that he showed up daily even though he spent much time on the bench.

Many individuals, including Giants icon Tiki Barber, rejected these comments. During the latest episode of the “Evan and Tiki” podcast, the former Giants star said, “Do you think he’s having that conversation? He doesn’t do production meetings because he’s not allowed to. If you have any conversation with anyone on the Giants, you’re not saying that.

“All this nonsense I keep hearing about ‘You put him in a disrespectful spot to play scout team’ — he wasn’t. He was walking through playing safety. Sometimes the coaches do that. It’s nothing.”

“Number two, the reason he asked for his release is they wouldn’t even let him work out! He’s going to sit around for 5-6 weeks and be a potato and do nothing? If you have a production meeting with the Giants about all this stuff that’s going on that most people aren’t privy to, you don’t say what you just said on the air.”

“I was there when they released him. It was surreal. It was bizarre. I don’t think Tom is privy enough to the information they need to be to have that conversation about Daniel Jones.”

Jones has now signed a deal with the Minnesota Vikings and will back up Sam Darnold.
