San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has had a long-running competition with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce as to who is the league’s best tight end.
While Kelce has been around longer, Kittle has made a name for himself as one of the best and highest-paid players at the position.
Just how much money has Kittle made to this point, though? Today, we’ll examine the All-Pro’s current contract and net worth.
What Is George Kittle’s Salary?
Kittle signed a five-year extension with the 49ers worth over $75 million on Aug. 13, 2020. At the time, it made him the highest-paid tight end in terms of yearly average over the likes of Kelce, Rob Gronkowski, and Zach Ertz.
Kittle’s contract included an $18 million signing bonus and $40 million of money guaranteed.
“Now I can go on a football field and not worry about anything, about getting injured,” Kittle said at the time. “Now I’m taken care of, and my family is taken care of, and I can just go play football and run through someone’s face, and I’m excited about that.”

Entering the 2024 offseason, Kittle agreed to restructure his contract to help the 49ers create nearly $10 million in cap space as they try to keep their elite roster intact.
Currently, Kittle earns $15 million per season, which makes him the third highest-paid tight end behind only Kelce ($17.125 million) and Minnesota Vikings tight end TJ Hockensen ($16.5 million).
In total, throughout his seven-year run with San Francisco, Kittle has been well compensated for his work as an All-Pro tight end.
What Is Kittle’s Net Worth and Career Earnings?
Kittle’s net worth is around $20 million. His career earnings, though, are almost double at over $48 million.
Kittle’s career earnings are lower than Kelce’s ($76.9 million), but it’s important to remember that the Chiefs star has been in the NFL for four more years than Kittle and, therefore, has an extra contract under his belt.
Kelce’s net worth is also estimated to be $10 million more than Kittle’s. Kelce has one of the most successful podcasts (“New Heights”) and a number of other off-field ventures.
