Should I Draft Gabe Davis? Bills WR’s Fantasy Outlook in 2023

Buffalo Bills WR Gabe Davis has yet to deliver the true breakout season for fantasy football managers, and his ADP reflects as much. Time to buy?

Gabe Davis. There’s your list of active players drafted on Day 3 (or undrafted) to have three seasons with six touchdown catches before turning 24. That’s the entire list, and yet fantasy football managers view him as a disappointment? Expectations from the industry aren’t nearly what they have been in the past for the big-play Buffalo Bills WR, and that could lead the way to a massive return on investment for those willing to take the leap.

Gabe Davis’ Fantasy Outlook for the 2023 NFL Season

The Bills are a pass-heavy offense behind Josh Allen, but the pass-catching room behind Stefon Diggs is a bit thin. Davis is the WR2 and, through three seasons, he remains without a 50-catch season.

Khalil Shakir is the WR3 and was hardly used as a rookie. After that? Really nothing in terms of target competition, leaving plenty of room for continued growth for Davis.

Devin Singletary left Buffalo for Houston this offseason, leaving James Cook as the primary back. He should be a viable pass catcher, but given the volume in this offense, there is still plenty of targets to hand out.

The Bills spent the 25th overall pick this April on TE Dalton Kincaid, and along with Dawson Knox, the tight end position should be a productive weapon. For fantasy purposes, it may be tough to count on either tight end, but the position as a whole should help solidify Buffalo as an elite offense.

Is Davis a Good Fantasy Pick?

    I’m back in!

Davis ran 38.7 routes per game last season (sixth-most) and owns a career aDOT of 14.8 yards.

He also hauled in multiple deep passes in the majority of games and was held without a big play only twice. His skill set profiles as an inconsistent option, but Davis is better than you want to believe, and this offense should allow him to work his way back into the favor of fantasy managers.
