NFL Free Agency Rumors: L’Jarius Sneed’s Social Media Post Spurs Eagles Speculation

With free agency just around the corner, Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed has spurred Eagles speculation in a recent social media post.

Free agency is just around the corner, and the NFL world is buzzing about what will happen with every impending free agent. Of the many players available, some are top players in the league.

One of those players includes Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. Sneed, who came on as one of the better corners in the NFL in 2023, is set to hit free agency, and a new social media post has spurred lots of speculation where he could go.

L’Jarius Sneed’s Instagram Post Starts Eagles Speculation

Sneed was born on Jan. 21, 1997, in Minden, Louisiana. He played wide receiver for Minden High School before committing to Louisiana Tech for college, where he switched positions to cornerback.

During his four-year college career, Sneed compiled 177 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, eight interceptions, 19 pass deflections and three touchdowns. He was taken in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Chiefs, where he’s since won two Super Bowls.

For his NFL stats, Sneed has 303 tackles, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumbles recovered, 10 interceptions, and 40 pass deflections. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2020 but has won no other awards.

“Pay me. Pay. Me,” said Sneed on the “Up and Adams Show,” with a big smile, when asked what he would tell Chiefs’ general manager Brett Veach. “That’s what I’ve got to say: pay me.”

However, on Saturday, Sneed posted a picture to his Instagram where he’s seen running out of the tunnel in the motion of a bird. He captioned the post with an emoji of an eagle, seemingly signifying that he was doing an eagle fly out of the tunnel.

Considering his impending free agent status and the Philadelphia Eagles‘ need for a cornerback, the post sent fans into a frenzy. “L’Jarius Sneed to the Eagles, confirmed,” said one NFL fan on X (formerly known as Twitter). In addition to the post itself, Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith liked the post.

However, a caveat to the post speculation is that Sneed uses the eagle emoji a lot, whether it is in reference to the NFL team or not. “He always put that caption,” said another fan on X.

According to Spotrac, Sneed’s estimated market value is $16.3 million per year on a four-year, $65.3 million deal. That ranks 112th in the NFL and 10th out of all NFL corners. Additionally, all 32 NFL teams received a $30 million cap room increase. “That 30 extra million can make this happen,” said another fan on X.
