‘I’d Fire Everyone’ – Former NFL Star Makes Case for $45M Coach Deion Sanders As Dallas Cowboys’ Next HC

    Published on

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is receiving strong backing by a former Cowboys wide receiver to be the next head coach in Dallas.

Deion Sanders to the Dallas Cowboys continues to be the hottest take in the rumor mill right now. Jerry Jones’ team continues their disastrous run in the 2024 NFL season, currently sitting at 3-7, having lost five games in a row.

The calls for change grow louder, and Mike McCarthy’s job appears to be hanging by a thread. Bill Belichick’s name is being floated around. Still, the strongest backing for the head coach job in Dallas is being received by former Cowboys legend Deion Sanders, the current head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.

Dez Bryant Urges Cowboys To Start a Clean Slate With Deion Sanders

Another Cowboys star, Dez Bryant, who played as a wide receiver in Dallas from 2010-17, couldn’t help but discuss the team’s struggles. Taking to X, he said, “I’m the @dallascowboys to the heart. If I were the Cowboys, I’d fire everyone after this season. There’s young, hungry talent in the upcoming draft. Also, I’d consider @DeionSanders as the next head coach.”

Boasting a net worth of $45 million, Sanders has been nothing short of phenomenal in Colorado. He has turned a struggling program into a College Football Playoff contender.

Under his tutelage, the Buffaloes have marched to an 8-2 record and a No. 17 national ranking.

Michael Irvin, a Hall of Fame receiver and another Cowboys legend, promised to discuss Sanders with Jerry Jones. “I give him respect like I give my great guy Deion Sanders, who didn’t go the normal route. Who I’m gonna be in Jerry’s ear about later. That’s just something else we’re talking about,” Irvin stated.

His star power, charisma, and ability to attract top talent also align seamlessly with the Cowboys’ brand, making him an appealing option for Jones. However, Sanders has publicly expressed his commitment to Colorado, saying, “I love it where I am,” during an appearance on FS1’s Speak On.

Pairing Sanders’ NFL pedigree and magnetic personality with the Cowboys seems like a dream fit for a franchise desperately needing a reset. But will “Coach Prime” make the leap to the NFL?

As things stand now, Coach Prime remains under contract with Colorado and has repeatedly stressed his commitment to the program. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has forwarded the idea of Deion coaching his son and top 2025 NFL Draft pick, Shedeur Sanders, in Dallas, making the scenario even more enticing.

For now, the Cowboys’ season is spiraling, and all eyes are on Jerry Jones. Will he listen to former players like Bryant and Irvin and make a high-profile hire like Deion Sanders? Fans, however, can be assured of one thing — if change is coming to Dallas, it will be headline-grabbing.
