One former NFL quarterback sounded off about Tom Brady and his dual responsibilities in the NFL world.

The 2024 NFL season was eventful for Tom Brady. The former quarterback dipped his toes back into the football world with dual responsibilities.

Apart from fulfilling his role as a broadcaster for Fox, Brady also became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Roger Goodell has insisted that Brady handled his roles with grace and accountability, and former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick shared his thoughts on Goodell’s statement.

Ryan Fitzpatrick Has Heard This Story Before

Ever since Brady became a minority owner of the Raiders, several questions have been raised regarding his biases for his job in the broadcast booth. It was later revealed that Brady would be subjected to special rules to ensure impartiality, but other broadcasters would not be bound by these rules.

In a recent interview, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell highlighted that the seven-time Super Bowl winner had been following the rules to a tee.

“Tom has been incredibly cooperative. He calls frequently about it and says, ‘Am I doing OK?’” Goodell said. “I think he’s serious that he separates the two and doesn’t put the league or anyone in a position of conflict.”

The 47-year-old has also taken an active role in the franchise’s hiring department. This approach was also seen by the critics as the Raiders having an unfair advantage.

“Everybody in the National Football League, owners and personnel, is still subject to tampering rules,” Goodell said regarding Brady’s involvement. “Everyone is responsible for his conduct, and they’re held accountable.”

However, Fitzpatrick suggests he has seen this script from the NFL before. The 42-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to air his grievances.

“I feel like we’ve heard this before…” he tweeted.

Brady’s Role in Bringing a QB to Las Vegas

As soon as Pete Carroll assumed the head coach role, the next order of business was to get a quarterback for the team. The veteran head coach highlighted that Brady will play an important role in this quest.

“It’s our mission to build this team up around the quarterback position. This isn’t the only spot,” Carroll said to the media before pointing out Brady’s expertise will come in handy for him.
