Shedeur Sanders came out of the 2024 season as a signal caller who uplifted his team to a 9-4 record after it had been sitting on a losing record. Before the quarterback transferred to Colorado from Jackson State, the Buffaloes had been hovering at a one-win season.
However, Sanders, alongside his team and head coach, changed things. Now, he’s ready to sail away to the NFL via the upcoming draft.

Jordan Palmer’s ‘Fascination’ With Shedeur Sanders Began With Deion Sanders
Former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer sat down with Rich Eisen on the latter’s eponymous show and discussed the 2025 quarterback class for the NFL Draft, among other things. The conversation then turned to Palmer’s fascination with Sanders, and he recounted how it all began with Deion Sanders.
“I was on this thing a long time ago, it’s called the NFL Legends Youth Advisory Committee,” Palmer said. “Troy Vincent put this group of people together and we were talking about the growth of football and all that stuff. … Prime was on it, wasn’t Coach Prime, he was Prime.
“… I remember we had a 15-minute break and Prime goes, ‘Hey, let me show you my 7th grader.’ So, I started paying attention to Shedeur then.”
Continuing the story, he said:
“So, I go, ‘Can he move like you?’ He goes, ‘No, but he can play like [Tom] Brady.’ And so, I’ve been fascinated, I’ve been watching it all from Jackson State to Colorado to the draft so I’m just going to be fascinated to watch him.”
According to Pro Football Network’s latest 7-Round mock draft by Joe Deleone, the Las Vegas Raiders will pick Sanders as the No. 6 overall player.
Deleone’s analysis of the quarterback reads: “The Colorado signal-caller is a cerebral decision-maker with pinpoint accuracy who will hit the ground running with offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.”
The Raiders are in need of a franchise quarterback, and Sanders could potentially be the answer they are so desperately seeking.
On another note, Sanders has been in the keen eyes of Brady, the legendary quarterback he was just compared to. Brady, who is also a minority owner of the Raiders, has reportedly been “impressed” by Sanders’ production and his ability to handle the spotlight with grace.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson, Brady has also shared with some NFL coaches and executives that he holds Sanders in high regard.
