Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Kurt Warner has given his assessment of Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Super Bowl 59. On Jan. 10, Warner took to social media to give his insightful thoughts on the game after having rewatched the contest earlier in the day.
The game ended with the Eagles defeating the Chiefs by 40-22. While the score wasn’t quite a massive blowout, the Chiefs scored 16 of those 22 points in the fourth quarter, with the game already out of reach. The win for Eagles marks their first Super Bowl Championship since the 2017 season, when they triumphed over the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots 41-33.
What Did Kurt Warner Say About Patrick Mahomes and Super Bowl 59?
Warner made clear that he did not think that the Chiefs offensive unit looked good on Sunday. Citing the details and the spacing, as well as the performance of Mahomes, Warner outlined how the game was difficult to watch. He also gave praise to the Eagles for their strong defensive showing in the contest.
“Just finished rewatching the Chiefs O & it was a really tough watch! They were obviously outplayed but was not a fan of details and spacing all not & PM2 was not on top of his game! Credit to Eagles D for sure, but they made it really hard on themselves! #StudyBall to come!,” Warner stated.

Super Bowl 59 Review
Mahomes and the Chiefs offense struggled mightily in Super Bowl 59.
Mahomes had two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown by Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean, and was sacked six times in the game. The run game was inefficient for the Chiefs, as Kareem Hunt rushed three times for nine yards, Samaje Perine one time for eight yards, and Isiah Pacheco three times for seven yards. With the exception of Xavier Worthy, the Eagles held all Chiefs receivers to under 40 yards on the day.
Defensively, the Chiefs gave up gave up 135 rushing yards, 72 of which came from quarterback Jalen Hurts and 57 came from running back Saquon Barkley. Through the air, the Chiefs surrendered 221 yards, with four Eagles players tallying over 40 receiving yards on the day (Devonta Smith with 69, A.J. Brown with 43, Jahan Dotson with 42, and Saquon Barkley with 40).
With the loss, the Chiefs enter the offseason with many questions, including whether star tight end Travis Kelce will call it a career. One thing is clear: the film to review from Super Bowl 59 will not be pretty for the Chiefs higher ups, as Warner alluded to in his post.
