The NFL world was left in shock when wide receiver A.J. Brown clarified his thoughts about dissatisfaction with the Philadelphia Eagles offense following the win against the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.
The Eagles star took a subtle shot at quarterback Jalen Hurts as he felt like the team didn’t do well enough in passing. Even analyst Emmanual Acho agreed with Brown and said that the WR is just doing cardio on the field.
Former NFL star Cam Newton also shared his thoughts on the situation during the latest episode of his show.
NFL Legend Cam Newton Offers Insight Into A.J. Brown-Eagles Situation
During the latest segment on the “4th&1 with Cam Newton” show, the former quarterback resonated with Hurts as he revealed that some of the top wide receivers said the same about him as Brown said about Hurts.
Newton explained that you go into every game with a game plan, and that changes according to the situation throughout the game. The former NFL quarterback also understands that one aspect of why Brown’s frustration is justified is that he wants to be a part of the game earlier rather than later.
“You go into every single game with a game plan, okay? So as that game plays out, that game plan changed, and it’s frustrating for a receiver. But can you? Can you? He’s a competitor. He wants to impact the game in his way.

“The only thing that I could think about that may be frustrating for A.J. Brown, get to me early. Don’t, don’t put me in a situation where I only got one reception. Put me in the game plan early. Get me rolling early; guys, they want to help their team.
This ain’t no personal s***. This is like, bro, we win the games, it’s cool, but bro, I ain’t touch the ball the whole half. Find a way to give me the damn ball.”
The hosts also discussed former Eagles star Donovan McNabb’s reaction to the Brown-Hurts situation, where he said, “It’s two grown men. If you got an issue, you come to me. Let’s not go through the media[…]because now it blows up and[…]now what you said is out there in front of everybody.”
Newton advised the Eagles’ stars to turn the page and figure it out like two grown adults.
