The New York Jets’ dreams to hoist a Lombardi Trophy with quarterback Aaron Rodgers came to an end just two seasons in, as the two have decided to part ways. Now, rumors have linked the quarterback to the Los Angeles Rams. However, former Jets wide receiver turned NFL analyst Keyshawn Johnson is not a big fan of the idea.

Keyshawn Johnson Not Convinced on Aaron Rodgers to LA Rams
Before the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, Johnson had mentioned that Rodgers skipped training camp, blamed WR Mike Williams for an interception, and took a trip to Egypt during minicamp.
He noted that the team won five games with Rodgers and seven without him.
And there’s this from Keyshawn Johnson, who told me: “They won 5 games with him and 7 games without him. What is it that he brings to the table at 42 years old with an Achilles and a new coach and a new environment and a new culture? He threw a receiver [Mike Williams] under the… https://t.co/wrd7h3Pwvi

Now, with rumors of Rodgers possibly joining hands with the LA Rams, Johnson thinks it could be risky for Rams head coach Sean McVay. The franchise might be thinking about trading veteran QB Matthew Stafford to bring in Rodgers to pair with Davante Adams, but Johnson doesn’t think Rodgers is the right choice.
“I’m not a big fan of the idea,” Johnson said on Fox Sports’ “Speak.”
“It’s really nothing against Aaron Rodgers. … I just, Sean can get into trouble.”
The analyst is worried that Rodgers’ strong personality and hopes to lead might disrupt the Rams’ team chemistry and that he might not fit into the new regime.
“Okay, it could be the beginning to the end of what we think about him as a genius getting a guy like Aaron Rodgers that may or may not fall in line. That’s the scary part for me. Because like you said, ‘You can’t teach old dogs new tricks.’
“It’s already embedded in him. … Be the Aaron Rodgers we saw in New York and in Green Bay or does he look out into the clouds and say, ‘Man, I gotta change all my perspective of where I am, who I am as a player now.”

The quarterback had 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns in 2024, but his production was still his worst in years, with the lowest passer rating of his career at 90.5 and 6.67 yards per attempt.
However, the Rams could imagine themselves making a push in the NFC with the strong pairing of Rodgers and Adams, so a possible trade could still be in the books.
