Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III believes that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts deserves an apology for the criticism he has been receiving. Griffin took to social media to outline how those who were disrespecting Hurts should apologize for jumping the gun.
In recent months, Hurts was at the forefront of criticism and questions about whether he had the talents to lead the Eagles back to another Super Bowl. Though he did struggle at times this regular season, Hurts was phenomenal when it mattered most in the playoffs. He had a dominant NFC Championship game and Super Bowl, earning the game’s MVP award in the process.

What Did Robert Griffin III Say About Jalen Hurts?
Griffin made it clear that Hurts deserved an apology for how he was criticized this year. Despite facing backlash for inconsistencies in the passing game and for relying on his supporting cast, Hurts finished the year as the fourth-best passer by PFSN’s QB+ metric. Now, he’s a Super Bowl MVP.
“I want every Jalen Hurts hater to make sure their apology is as loud as the disrespect was,” he said.
On Sunday, Hurts had a great game and was a major factor in the Eagles’ success. In a dominant 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, he had 221 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 72 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown. Those numbers were good enough for 293 total yards and three total scores, making him an easy choice for MVP.

The Chiefs clearly focused on shutting down star running back Saquon Barkley, something that made Hurts’ performance that much more necessary. Kansas City made Hurts beat them, and he came through.
Jalen Hurts Super Bowl Review
With the win in Super Bowl 59, Hurts joins a short list of NFL quarterbacks who lost their first trip to the Super Bowl but were able to come back in the future and hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
Though he only has one championship to show for it, Hurts was arguably the best player on the field in both of his Super Bowl contests.
In Super Bowl 57, also against the Chiefs, Hurts generated 374 total yards and four touchdowns in the losing effort. As a result, he has 667 yards from scrimmage and seven scores across two Super Bowls, unquestionably deserving of high praise from fans and analysts alike.
