Former Eagles QB Puts in Special Request for Shedeur Sanders After His First NFL Game in 2025

A former NFL standout quarterback and Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders agreed to a jersey swap after Sanders' first NFL game.

Longtime NFL quarterback Michael Vick and Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders have agreed to a jersey swap. In a video reposted to X by a Buffaloes fan account, Vick and Sanders are seen discussing a jersey swap, a conversation that led to a deal between the two quarterbacks that will take place at the start of the 2025 NFL season.

What Did Michael Vick and Shedeur Sanders Agree To?

Vick played 13 years in the NFL, during which he amassed an impressive 22,464 passing yards, 133 passing touchdowns, 6,109 rushing yards, and 36 rushing touchdowns in his career. Vick detailed to Sanders how he wanted Sanders’ first game-worn NFL jersey sent to him. He explained how he wanted to frame the iconic Sanders jersey upon it being sent.

“I want your first jersey, after your first game this year. Sign it, send it to me, I’m gonna frame it in my crib,” Vick stated.

Sanders had a strong campaign for the Buffaloes in 2024 and expects to be a high pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Sanders and Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward appear to be the top two quarterbacks available in the upcoming draft; however, it is still unclear who will have the edge and be selected higher on draft night.

This past season for the Buffaloes, Sanders had 4,134 passing yards, 41 total touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and an impressive completion percentage of 74.0%.

In PFSN’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, completed by Ben Rolfe, Sanders was the No. 2 QB selected and the No. 2 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. Ward went No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans in that mock draft.

As Rolfe notes, “Sanders is a promising NFL prospect. He is a pocket passer with enough mobility to make him effective. There are concerns about his arm strength, but he mitigates those with his compact release and impressive accuracy. Those mechanics can hide concerns when pressured, which is a concern with the Browns’ offensive line ranking 20th last season.”

While only time will tell whether Sanders is in fact wearing a Browns uniform next season, it is evident that Vick will be receiving a jersey from whichever NFL team it is after Sanders’ first game in the league.
