Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is considered a strong competitor for the NFL‘s Most Valuable Player this season. One of his former teammates Stefon Diggs supports his former quarterback in his efforts to win the top award.
Stefon Diggs’ Surprise MVP Candidate
Diggs took to social media on Friday, replying to one Bills fan who asked whether Allen is going to win the league’s Most Valuable Player Award.
“Speaking less..praying more,” Diggs posted initially, which was followed by a reply from a fan who asked Diggs, “Hows you healing? Think Josh is gonna get MVP this year?”
Diggs was short and succinct in his prompt answer to the fan’s post, saying: “he should shorty balling fr.”

Diggs suffered a season-ending ACL tear during Week 8. He spent four seasons playing in Buffalo with Allen before being traded to the Houston Texans before the 2024 NFL Draft.
As for Allen, it’s very easy to see why he’s the front-runner for the NFL’s MVP Award.
He did not throw an interception until Week 8. He is clearly having a better season statistically than last year’s winner, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.
Diggs was on “Good Morning Football” this week and made a plea for Allen to win the MVP award. He implored those who vote on the award to cast their ballot for his former quarterback.
After 14 games this season, Allen has completed 64.4% of his pass attempts for 3,395 yards, 25 touchdowns, and only five interceptions. The dual-threat quarterback also has 484 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns on the ground.
“He definitely should win. He’s been balling,” Diggs said. “It’s no secret that Josh Allen is amazing. … He’s making those plays. It’s not new to me at all. It’s not new to nobody in the league. I feel like it’s just kind of his respect coming full circle. Finally getting that credit that he deserves. He’s playing at a very high level. I feel like he deserves it.”

Diggs went on to defend and back up his statements.
“Somebody had said something [about Allen winning MVP],” Diggs said. “And I was like, ‘He definitely should be winning. He’s been balling. Obviously, it’s no secret that Josh Allen is amazing.
“As far as seeing him, game in, game out, he’s making those plays. It’s not new to me at all. … It’s just respect coming full circle. He’s finally getting the credit he deserves.”
Allen should be able to pad his gaudy statistics this weekend when the Bills take on the New England Patriots in Week 16.
