Fantasy WR Injury Update | Week 16

Keeping your fantasy football team up to date is crucial for success during the fantasy football playoffs and championship games. Some of the most notable skill players on the fantasy WR injury update for Week 16 include Terry McLaurin and Julio Jones, so we’re talking about major point swings hanging in the balance. That’s a lot of potential points that could sway what happens in your playoff or championship game.

Below is information regarding our Week 16 fantasy injury report and status, along with additional wide receivers around the league — those of which are sorted by conference.

Terry McLaurin is doubtful to play in Week 16

Update, Sunday, December 27: Terry McLaurin is inactive in Week 16

Washington Football Team’s star receiving threat, Terry McLaurin, has been listed as doubtful for the team’s Week 16 contest. Washington will likely be without McLaurin against the Carolina Panthers. Terry McLaurin’s absence will likely mean that Washington will have to rely on tight end Logan Thomas and other options in the passing game.

Terry McLaurin has battled through injuries this season, but this could be the first game he has missed all season. In his second professional season, he has been a consistent scoring option for fantasy managers. Losing him during the championship game is a big loss for those contending for a title.

Julio Jones will not play in Week 16

The Atlanta Falcons could be without their star receiver for the last two regular season games. Julio Jones missed Week 15 with a hamstring injury and received treatment. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Jones received a platelet-rich plasma injection for the injury. The hope is for the injection to speed up the recovery process for the veteran wide receiver.

Jones’ presence on the field has been missed, as the offense seems to struggle to find their stride without him. Despite the treatment, Jones will not play in Week 16. Unfortunately for teams playing for a championship, they will be without a top receiving option.

Allen Robinson II is listed as questionable for Week 16

Update, Sunday, December 27: Allen Robinson is active in Week 16

Bears’ wide receiver Allen Robinson II missed Thursday’s practice but was a limited participant on Friday, landing him on the fantasy WR injury report for Week 16. While he was able to be a participant, his status is still questionable for Week 16. Ian Rapoport reported early Sunday morning that Robinson is expected to play.

The Bears’ leading receiver has been dealing with a hamstring injury that could keep him out against Jacksonville. Robinson has provided fantasy managers with a big boost in scoring production, with 90 catches on the season and over 1,000 receiving yards thus far. His presence could be a big one for team managers trying to bring home their fantasy football trophy.

Tyler Boyd has been ruled out for Week 16

After suffering a concussion in the Bengals’ Week 15 win against the Steelers, wide receiver Tyler Boyd has been ruled out for Week 16. Boyd is still in the league’s concussion protocol and won’t be available against the Houston Texans. This will be his first game missed since 2018.

Boyd has been getting the majority of the offensive targets this season, even without Joe Burrow under center. With his absence, fantasy managers should look at possibly replacing Boyd with fellow Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, who has been getting more looks as of late. While replacing Boyd’s production in the championship round will be difficult, it may be the better option.

Tyreek Hill is listed as questionable for Week 16

Update, Sunday, December 27: Tyreek Hill is active in Week 16

Although he is listed as questionable for Week 16, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he expects wide receiver Tyreek Hill to play. Hill has been a fantasy superstar this season, scoring 15 touchdowns on the year. Fantasy managers should keep their eyes on the injury report to see if Hill is able to play against the Falcons.

This would be a big opportunity for those looking for a championship to secure one, as Hill’s presence against a lowly Atlanta secondary could lead to major point swings. If Hill can’t go, Sammy Watkins and Mecole Hardman are quality replacement options.
