NFL Weather Report and Forecast Week 9: Bad Weather in Germany Could Slow Down the Game of the Week

What is the NFL weather report for Week 9 as we examine the forecasts and fantasy impact from Germany and all across the United States?

The start of November can often bring adverse weather forecasts for NFL games as we creep closer to winter. With threats of high winds, rain, and sometimes snow, fantasy football managers need to be prepared to pivot if it could impact game scripts and performances. Let’s examine the Week 9 NFL weather report and how the forecasts could impact the games this weekend.

Weather forecasts are up to date as of 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023.

Week 9 NFL Weather Report and Fantasy Impact

Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs | Sunday, 9:30 a.m.

    • Expected Temperature: Low-50s
    • Showers: 70% chance at kickoff dropping during the game
    • Wind: 14 mph southwesterly with gusts up to 31 mph

The worst weather of the week may very well come in the first game of the day over in Germany. Not only will we have rain, but we could see gusts up to 31 mph. The unknown here is how those gusts will impact the game itself. The stadium has a retractable roof which should be closed top keep the rain out. However, we have seen the wind whipping under the stadium roof and could swirl.

From a fantasy perspective, the top options in the passing game, such as Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle, should not be hugely impacted by this. It downgrades the more fringe options like Rashee Rice, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Co. The kicking game carries concerns, and while you are not benching Harrison Butker, Jason Sanders is a little more on the fringes.

This weather could also push more work into the hands of the running backs. While Isiah Pacheco and Raheem Mostert are both must-starts anyway, the weather could see secondary options such as Jeff Wilson Jr. and Jerick McKinnon carry more value this week.

Weather Report for the Remainder of Sunday and Monday

While the weather in Germany is concerning, the rest of the weekend looks fine, and there will be little in the way of fantasy implications. The worst weather may well be on Monday night when the New York Jets host the Los Angeles Chargers, but even then, we are talking about a slim chance of rain and light winds.

This is a week to keep it simple. The weather should not complicate matters, and PFN’s Consensus Rankings can guide you in all your toughest decisions. Additionally, you can get any of your tough fantasy decisions answered at the PFN Start/Sit Optimizer for Week 9.
