It is incredibly important to make the correct lineup decisions in fantasy football. Here are our Week 6 start/sit picks for the TE position.

Making fantasy football lineup decisions can be incredibly frustrating or incredibly rewarding. It all depends on how often you get it correct. Here to help you make those decisions are our positional start ’em and sit ’em picks.

Fantasy decisions will only get more difficult from here on out, so let’s take a look at our Week 6 start/sit plays for the TE position.

Which TEs Should You Start in Fantasy This Week?

Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders (at ATL)

Is this point chasing? Maybe. But at the tight end position, I won’t apologize for chasing a good player coming off a big week in a favorable matchup.

Logan Thomas has one of the best roles among TEs this season. He’s playing 80% of the snaps and is the clear second target in his team’s passing game.

Atlanta Falcons’ opponents are targeting the tight end position 30.4% of the time, by far the highest rate in the league. Why? Because it works.

The Falcons are allowing the second-most PPG to tight ends at 16.9. This is a great spot for Thomas to follow up on his stellar Week 5 performance.

Which TEs Should You Sit in Fantasy This Week?

Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons (vs. WAS)

If you hung onto Kyle Pitts and started him last week, awesome. The man almost doubled his fantasy output on the season in one game. This is me cautioning you against chasing that production.

Pitts still has just two receptions in three of his five games this season. He continues to split snaps with Jonnu Smith and once again ran fewer routes.

This week, the Falcons play a Washington Commanders defense that has erased tight ends this season. Just 10.7% of their receiving yards allowed have gone to the tight end position. They allow 7.9 ppg to tight ends, the sixth-fewest in the league.

After a gutsy win against the Texans last week, I’m expecting the Falcons to fall flat against a Commanders team looking to bounce back after an embarrassing home loss to the Chicago Bears. The Commanders will have extended rest — this is a bad spot for Pitts.

Should You Start Logan Thomas or Jake Ferguson?

Through five weeks, Jake Ferguson has cracked double-digit fantasy points just twice. It was both games in which he scored a touchdown.

Thomas has also done it twice, scoring TDs in both contests. However, Thomas certainly didn’t need the touchdown last week.

Going with Thomas the week after his career game feels like chasing your tail. Normally, I’d caution against it. But Thomas’ role is excellent, and the tight end position is … well … not.

I do like Ferguson this week in a projected shootout with the Chargers. But I agree with the Start/Sit Optimizer here; it’s Thomas.

Should You Start Kyle Pitts or Zach Ertz?

Imagine asking whether you should start one of the most athletic and explosive players in the NFL over the complete opposite. The NFL can be a weird place.

Zach Ertz has clearly been the better fantasy asset through the first five weeks of the season. But Pitts should be the better player. Last week, Pitts had his best game of the season, catching seven passes for 87 yards.

With Thomas, I’m willing to chase last week’s production. Not so much with Pitts. Why? His role is nowhere near as good.

Ertz is playing 75% of the snaps. Although he only saw four targets last week, he had 10 the week before. Ertz has the same touchdown upside as Pitts but more bankable volume. The Start/Sit Optimizer says Ertz, and I agree.
