Fantasy football managers who will be without Dalton Kincaid, Cole Kmet, and T.J. Hockenson this week are going to have to make some tough lineup decisions on who to start or sit at the TE position.
Here are some of my start/sit options at the TE position for Week 13 of NFL action.
Which TEs Should You Start in Fantasy This Week?
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys’ passing offense has certainly been generating a ton of yards and fantasy points through the air, but TE Jake Ferguson has oddly seen a dramatic dip in production and involvement over the last two games.
He has caught just four passes for 67 yards on eight targets with no scores combined over the previous two weeks. Nevertheless, I’m willing to bet on Ferguson producing a bounce-back performance in Week 13 against the Seahawks.
Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers appear to have two talented rookie TEs they can call upon this season. After Luke Musgrave was sent to injured reserve ahead of the team’s Thanksgiving matchup against the Lions, Tucker Kraft made the most of his two targets by hauling both passes and scoring the first touchdown of his NFL career in Week 12.

While the target volume and yardage output weren’t ideal, his snap usage was. He was on the field for 96% of the team’s offensive snaps against Detroit. As long as he continues to stay on the field this much, it wouldn’t be surprising if his involvement in the passing game expands in the coming weeks.
Which TEs Should You Sit in Fantasy This Week?
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
In all honesty, Tyler Conklin has been a serviceable fantasy streaming option at the TE position for the majority of the last month. His 19 receptions for 187 yards over the last four games feel like a remarkable accomplishment, considering the current state of the Jets offense.
However, I have two big concerns with trusting Conklin in my lineup in Week 13. First, New York’s offense didn’t even cross midfield until the fourth quarter last week against Miami. Second, TE Jeremy Ruckert has seen a sizeable jump in targets and snaps over the last two games.
The Jets offense is already a big enough mess as it is. I don’t want any part of a tight end timeshare in a struggling offense.

Should You Start Tyler Conklin or Cade Otton?
Remember when I mentioned that Conklin is currently in a bit of a timeshare with Ruckert in the New York offense? Well, the exact opposite can be said for Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cade Otton, who was quite literally on the football field for every single offensive snap against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Otton has quietly caught 5+ passes in five of his last six games, which has given him a reliable fantasy floor at a position filled with unreliable options. I’m confidently starting Otton over Conklin in Week 13.
Should You Start Jake Ferguson or David Njoku?
As great as Ferguson has been this season, Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku has simply been a better fantasy option than most with QB Deshaun Watson out of the lineup.
Njoku has averaged eight targets, four receptions, 52 receiving yards, and 11.4 fantasy points over a six-game sample size of Watson playing less than 90% of the offensive snaps.
Njoku has scored 10+ fantasy points in six straight games. Regardless of the revolving door under center for the Browns, Njoku has become a very reliable fantasy option for fantasy managers because of his instant chemistry with these backup quarterbacks in Cleveland. As crazy as it may sound, I’m going with Njoku in Week 13.
