The Top WRs To Start in Week 9
Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers
Analysis by Derek Tate | For those fantasy managers who were quick to label Adam Thielen’s fantasy value as being closely tied to the Panthers constantly playing in negative game scripts were proven wrong again on the 33-year-old veteran receiver.
MORE: Fantasy News Tracker
Thielen has scored a minimum of 15 fantasy points in PPR formats in every game since the season opener, making him one of the most consistent and reliable fantasy options at the WR position.
Another fact worth noting is that Thielen has seen 11+ targets in three straight games, which puts him in elite company in a crucial statistical category for projecting fantasy success. The Colts are giving up an average of 29.1 fantasy PPG to opposing WRs this season. Thielen is flirting with must-start status regardless of format.
Nico Collins, Houston Texans (vs. TB)
Analysis by Jason Katz | Continuing with the theme of not starting running backs against the Bucs but attacking them through the air, Nico Collins should be in line for a nice bounce-back week.
Collins had a rough outing against Carolina, catching just four passes for 30 yards. But he remains the Texans’ WR1.
This week should be much better, as Houston should somehow struggle to run the ball even more. That should result in more volume for Collins against a Buccaneers pass defense allowing the ninth-most PPG to wide receivers.
Consider Collins a locked-in WR2 this week.
