A league-winning quarterback can act as a fantasy football cheat code if you properly identify which signal-caller is set to have a huge year entering the upcoming NFL season.
For those of you who don’t land that superstar, be thankful that QB is the deepest position in all of fantasy football. Here’s a closer look at the fantasy quarterback rankings in a full-PPR format entering the 2024 NFL season.

Who Are the Best Quarterbacks To Draft in Fantasy?
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
We all have moments in life where we overreact to things. Fantasy managers happen to be a bunch that can also be susceptible to overreacting from time to time — particularly when a top quarterback loses an elite receiver.
A recent example is Tyreek Hill’s move to the Miami Dolphins, which raised some questions about whether Patrick Mahomes would be as productive a fantasy quarterback. Mahomes responded that season by finishing the year as the QB1 overall in fantasy football.
Well, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen just lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. This could give some a little pause about placing Allen atop the positional rankings this year.
Before you take such action, consider that Allen’s last four fantasy campaigns have registered QB1, QB2, QB1, and QB1 overall finishes, respectively.
If Allen throwing to the likes of Dalton Kincaid, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, and Keon Coleman is enough to scare you from investing this type of draft capital in the superstar QB, that’s fine. Yet, shouldn’t we acknowledge Allen’s fantasy production over the last nine games of the year, a stretch in which Diggs was just the WR44 in full-PPR formats?
From Week 10 through the rest of the regular season, Allen was the QB1 overall on a points-per-game basis at the position. It sure seemed like he didn’t need Diggs to be playing at an All-Pro level or an elite fantasy producer.
Allen rushing for a career-high 15 touchdowns last proves he can produce monster fantasy numbers with his legs or arm. He’s simply been too consistently excellent to project a significant fall from fantasy stardom in 2024.
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Speaking of Mahomes, what do you get when you pair two of the fastest receivers in the league with a quarterback who’s already entering the GOAT conversation at the age of 28?
To me, that is the recipe for a big bounce-back fantasy campaign this upcoming season.
Look, by his insanely high standards, Mahomes had a down year in 2023 with a makeshift collection of pass catchers throughout the regular season. Yet, he still managed to win yet another Super Bowl.
Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy will instantly change the dynamic of this offense by providing a legit vertical element that simply didn’t exist last year. Mahomes is one of the best off-script creators in the league, which means if he buys a couple extra seconds and allows that type of speed to simply find open space, the results can equal fantasy success we haven’t seen from him before.
By the way, Kansas City still has Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice on the roster.
Mahomes is at the peak of his physical powers and has proven capable time and time again to reach a level of play others simply can’t match. If things click instantly for this revamped passing attack, 5,000 passing yards and 50 passing touchdowns are not completely off the table for Mahomes in 2024.
