The art of streaming quarterbacks has made a comeback in 2024. With QB scoring down across the league, it’s as viable as ever to find startable options off the waiver wire. Here are a couple of QB streamers who fantasy football managers should consider for Week 6.
All QB streamers are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants (vs. CIN)
If you had asked me a month ago, I would’ve said it’s more likely Drew Lock will start for the New York Giants by Week 6 than Daniel Jones is a viable option for fantasy managers. Yet, here we are.
Through five weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals have been a dream opponent for fantasy goodness. They have an elite offense, which forces their opponents to try and keep up.
To go along with it, Cincinnati has an awful defense. It’s this combination that led to last week’s game of the year between the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, in which 73 total points were scored.
The Giants are not about to be a party to a 70-point offensive festival. Nevertheless, they can hold their own, especially if Malik Nabers can clear the concussion protocol.
Jones has somewhat quietly been not terrible this season. He’s thrown six touchdowns against three interceptions, and fantasy managers looking for a QB streamer only need him to get to 15 points to feel satisfied.
Daniel Jones (24 of 34 257 2-0) played his 4th straight quality game. “Played good again,” Brian Daboll said.
Don’t look now but Jones is 12th with a QBR of 61.3, ahead of players such as Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff.

Jones has reached 18 fantasy points in three of his last four games. Last week, he threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks while adding 38 yards on the ground.
The Bengals are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Available in over 90% of Yahoo leagues, Jones is very much in play for fantasy managers in need of a spot starter.
Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints (vs. TB)
After a scorching start to the season, Derek Carr has cooled off considerably over the past two weeks, failing to reach double-digit fantasy points in both Weeks 3 and 4.
This was written prior to Monday Night Football, but as long as Carr didn’t get hurt, his status as a streaming option remains intact.
We know what Carr’s upside looks like. We saw it in the first two weeks of the season when he posted games of 21.3 and 22.8 fantasy points, respectively.
This week, he gets a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that just surrendered 500 passing yards to Kirk Cousins. They are currently allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
With weapons like Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed at his disposal, the Saints and Bucs could find themselves in a divisional slugfest. Carr is a safe option for fantasy managers in Week 6.
Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers (vs. ATL)
This is an absolute last resort for fantasy managers. You should be able to do better than Andy Dalton, but if you’re in a league where several quarterbacks are rostered, the Red Rifle should be much better than he was last week against the Chicago Bears.
Dalton looked pretty good in his first two starts after replacing Bryce Young, scoring 24.5 and 16.7 fantasy points, respectively. Last week, things took a turn, with Dalton failing to so much as reach 5.0 fantasy points. The Bears also have one of the best pass defenses in the NFL.
Things should go much smoother against the Falcons. While far from a pushover, Atlanta is allowing the 13th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. It’s not the greatest matchup, but it’s far better than the Bears, who allow the second-fewest.
For the desperate fantasy managers out there, Dalton can work if you really need him.
