Fantasy WR Injury Report Week 17: Marquise Brown, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, and more injury updates

As fantasy football managers finalize lineups for Week 17, what are the latest updates surrounding WRs on the injury report?

While rankings and projections are beneficial, few things are more important in fantasy football than following injury updates. Injuries not only impact the player in question but the teammates and the offenses around them. Here’s an update on some critical WR injury reports to watch and their fantasy football impact.

Week 17 Fantasy Football WR Injury Report | AFC

How are the fantasy-relevant wide receivers in the AFC dealing with injuries? Let’s see which pass catchers may require a Plan B for Week 17’s action.

A.J. Brown, Julio Jones, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans

A.J. Brown missed Thursday’s practice with a minor calf issue. He returned to a full practice on Friday and is not listed on the final injury report. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was activated from the list Friday and will play.

Julio Jones remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He’s out this week, which ends his 2021 fantasy season. Jones will go down as one of, if not the single worst possible pick you could’ve made in the fourth round. A sad ending for one of the best wide receivers of the past decade.

Marquise Brown and Devin Duvernay, Baltimore Ravens

Marquise Brown missed practice Thursday and Friday due to an illness. He’s listed as questionable. Devin Duvernay got in a full practice Friday. He’s been dealing with an ankle issue. He’s also listed as questionable. Fortunately, the Ravens play at 1 PM ET, so fantasy managers will know his status before any games start.

Update: Hollywood and Duvernay are active.

Jamison Crowder and Elijah Moore, New York Jets

Jamison Crowder did not practice all week with the same calf issue that cost him Week 16. He’s listed as doubtful, and he’ll likely not play. Elijah Moore was also ruled out for Week 17. He’s on the injured reserve but apparently has a chance to return for a meaningless Week 18 game.

Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Tim Patrick, Denver Broncos

Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick are on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Head coach Vic Fangio said Courtland Sutton may have ended up on the list as well, but fortunately, that did not happen. Currently, Kendall Hinton is the Broncos’ WR2. With Drew Lock starting, this is an absolute mess.

Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor, New England Patriots

Jakobi Meyers was limited at practice all week with a thigh issue. He’s listed as questionable. Nelson Agholor is out due to a concussion. If Meyers can’t go, N’Keal Harry would start in two-receiver sets.

    Update: Meyers is active.

    Jarvis Landry, Cleveland Browns

Jarvis Landry has been listed on the injury report due to his knee for over a month now. He’s fine. The team just manages his reps. Still, he carries no injury designation and will play Monday.

    Emmanuel Sanders, Buffalo Bills

Emmanuel Sanders did not practice Thursday and Friday due to his knee issue. He’s listed as questionable but is trending in the wrong direction. I would not expect him to suit up this week.

Isaiah McKenzie balled out last week, but with Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis back, I expect them to start in three-receiver sets with Stefon Diggs.

    Update: Sanders is inactive.

Week 17 Fantasy Football WR Injury Report | NFC

How are the fantasy-relevant wide receivers in the NFC dealing with injuries? Let’s see which pass catchers may require a Plan B for Week 17’s action.

Mike Evans and Antonio Brown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday and got in a limited practice on Friday due to his hamstring strain. Antonio Brown tweaked his ankle at practice and did not participate Thursday or Friday. Both players are listed as questionable and are game-time decisions.

Adam Schefter tweeted out that both AB and Evans are expected to play, but Evans in more of a limited role. I prefer Breshad Perriman to Cyril Grayson if you need to take a shot on another Bucs wide receiver.

Update: AB and Evans are active.

    DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks

DK Metcalf went through his usual weekly routine of only practicing occasionally. He’s not listed on the final injury report. Barring a setback, he will once again play through his foot injury.

    Rondale Moore, Arizona Cardinals

Rondale Moore got in two limited practice sessions to close out the week. He’s dealing with an ankle issue and is questionable.

    Curtis Samuel, Washington Football Team

Curtis Samuel was limited at practice all week with a hamstring strain. He’s listed as questionable but is not fantasy-relevant even if he plays.

    Update: Samuel is inactive.

Tre’Quan Smith and Lil’Jordan Humphrey, New Orleans Saints

Tre’Quan Smith is out this week due to a chest issue. Lil’Jordan Humphrey popped up on Friday’s injury report with an illness and is listed as questionable. Regardless, no Saints pass catcher is worth starting in fantasy.

Kadarius Toney and Darius Slayton, New York Giants

Kadarius Toney is out this week due to his fifth different injury this season. This time it’s a shoulder issue. Darius Slayton is also out due to COVID-19. Even backups Collin Johnson, John Ross, C.J. Board, and Dante Pettis are out. Indeed, Kenny Golladay is the only healthy wide receiver on the Giants’ roster.
