A plethora of injuries and four teams on a bye have drastically shaken up the weekly rankings at the QB position this week.
Let’s look at where players like Tua Tagovailoa, Dak Prescott, and Geno Smith fall in my Week 9 fantasy football rankings at the QB position.

The Top QBs To Start in Week 9
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Sometimes, a bye week can do wonders for a struggling offensive unit.
MORE: Fantasy Week 9 QB Start/Sit
Dak Prescott exploded for 304 yards and four scores through the air against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. Does this mean Prescott is firmly back in the QB1 conversation?
Not quite. But his matchup against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that just gave up 397 yards and four scores to Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell feels like a decent spot to stream the Cowboys’ signal-caller in your fantasy lineup.
Sam Howell, Washington Commanders
Did you know Sam Howell is the QB8 in fantasy through the first eight weeks of the NFL season?
If you predicted this type of production from Howell heading into the 2023 campaign, then allow me to applaud you. He has been one of the biggest fantasy surprises of the first half of the season.
Part of his production has come in a complete change in offensive philosophy from the Commander’s offense this year. Over the last five games, Howell has averaged 41 pass attempts per contest.
Sure, that is nice and all, but the fact he is producing games like he did in Week 8 — 397 passing yards and four TDs — is the type of production that has turned him into a viable fantasy starter. In a week where there are a handful of injuries at the QB position, Howell is worth starting consideration against the New England Patriots.
