Fantasy Football Updated RB Dynasty Rankings Week 17: Where Do James Cook, Rachaad White, and De’Von Achane Land?

    Published on

As the attention starts to shift towards 2024, what do the dynasty RB rankings look like heading into the final two games of the 2023 NFL season?

The high rate of turnover of rosters and coaching staffs, the shorter shelf life of the position, and the higher rate of injury make the running back position a very volatile market in the world of dynasty fantasy football.

With that in mind, here are my updated dynasty RB rankings to help guide you as we head into Week 17.

Dynasty RB Risers After Week 16

    Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The rushing efficiency concerns that plagued Rachaad White through his rookie season and the first 10 weeks of the 2023 NFL season have seemingly disappeared over the last month while the Bucs have gone on a four-game winning streak.

MORE: PFN’s FREE NFL Playoff Predictor

Since Week 12, White has averaged 83 yards rushing, while still being very busy in the passing game with an average of three receptions during that span.

His improvement as a runner and consistent work as a receiver out of the backfield has made him a very reliable three-down back in an improving Tampa Bay offense, which has seen him jump inside my top 10 rankings at the RB position heading into 2024.

    James Cook, Buffalo Bills

Despite the Buffalo Bills’ past hesitations to commit to a leading rusher during the Josh Allen era, James Cook has emerged as a consistent fantasy producer for an offense that has made a concerted effort to establish a reliable running game in 2023.

Cook has now seen 20+ carries in consecutive games and has proven capable of physically holding up while averaging 16 touches per game while maintaining an impressive per-touch efficiency.

Heading into the final two seasons of his rookie deal, Cook has positioned himself as the leading man in a high-powered offense, which has helped jump in the dynasty rankings going into the final two games of the season.
