Week 14 Fantasy Football RB Injury Report | AFC
The AFC is no stranger to RB injuries, but fortunately, this week is relatively light. Of the three names below, we are only tracking one’s status for Week 14.
Kenyan Drake, Las Vegas Raiders
Kenyan Drake had surgery to repair his broken ankle. He is done for the season. This will be the last update on Drake until 2022. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos
Melvin Gordon is expected to practice at some point this week. He missed last week’s game with a hip issue. Given how great Javonte Williams played last week, I expect Gordon to do everything he can to be ready for this week’s game.
Damien Harris, New England Patriots
Damien Harris tweaked his hamstring on Monday Night Football and briefly exited the game. He returned after only missing a few plays, had a carry, and then departed for the duration of the game.
The good news is the Patriots are on bye this week, so Harris will have 13 days to recover.
Week 14 Fantasy Football RB Injury Update | NFC
Which NFC running backs are dealing with injuries that may affect their game status in Week 14? What’s going on with the 49ers’ backfield?
Saquon Barkley, New York Giants
Saquon Barkley was listed as limited on Wednesday’s estimated practice report. Barkley was not on last week’s injury report so it’s possible his ankle is a bit sore after last week’s game. He’s made it clear his ankle won’t be 100% the rest of the season and it’s just something he will have to manage. Barkley is not in jeopardy of missing this week’s game.
Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings
Dalvin Cook was listed as limited for Tuesday’s practice as he nurses his shoulder injury. He’s not expected to play this week, but we can’t rule him out for Thursday Night Football just yet. This is certainly a promising sign for his chances of returning in Week 15, though.
Update: Cook practiced on a limited basis again on Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday night.
Chase Edmonds, Arizona Cardinals
Wednesday will be key for Chase Edmonds’ prospects of returning from the injured reserve this week. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury suggested Edmonds may return Monday night.
To do that, he will need to practice Wednesday, which would start the three-week clock on his activation.
Elijah Mitchell and Jeff Wilson Jr., San Francisco 49ers
Elijah Mitchell reported concussion-like symptoms to his team on Monday. He now must clear the concussion protocol before returning to action. Jeff Wilson’s knee flared up on him last week. It sounds minor, but it could keep him out of this week’s game. JaMycal Hasty is currently the only healthy back on San Francisco’s roster.
