Fantasy Kicker Rankings and Streamers Week 8: Time To Grab a Pair of Jasons

The kicker position is one you can stream weekly to gain an advantage. Let's take a look at our top fantasy kicker streamers for Week 8.

Knowing which kickers to start in fantasy football can be critical to winning your matchups. This position, arguably more so than any other, is matchup dependent on a weekly basis, and the best results can be obtained by being flexible with a streaming strategy. Here’s a look at our Week 8 fantasy kicker rankings and the top options to stream this week.

    Top Week 8 Kicker Streamers

Five weeks of football allows us to really start figuring out who these teams are. Here are my top fantasy kicker streamers, all of whom are rostered in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues.

Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks (vs. NYG)

This game is literally on Halloween Eve, and Michael Myers’ brother still can’t get any respect? Okay, I can’t confirm that Jason Myers is actually Michael Myers’ brother. But can you confirm he’s not? I digress.

The Seahawks’ kicker has scored double-digit fantasy points in five consecutive games. Yet, somehow, he’s still rostered in just 33% of Yahoo leagues. I keep putting him in the kicker streamers article, but I shouldn’t be able to. Myers should’ve surpassed the rostership threshold by now.

Myers is averaging three field-goal attempts over his last five games. Entering Week 7, the Giants were allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to kickers, and the Seahawks are field-goal home favorites in this one. Myers checks all the boxes here. He’s the top Week 8 kicker streamer, and I hope to not be able to include him in next week’s column.

Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. PIT)

With bye weeks upon us, a lot of fantasy kicker streamers aren’t going to be true streamers. Jake Elliott is going to be on a lot more than 7% of fantasy rosters after this week’s waivers clear. He was just dropped because holding kickers through bye weeks is often untenable for managers.

Elliott plays on one of the best offenses in football. The Eagles are home in Week 8 against the Steelers. They are heavy favorites and should find themselves in scoring position numerous times throughout the game.

The biggest concern with Elliott is the Eagles have been too efficient. They’ve only attempted nine field goals in six games.

But when streaming kickers, we need to follow the process. We want kickers on good offenses in good weather in games they are projected to win (or at least not lose). Elliott checks all of the boxes. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s made 90% of his kicks the past two seasons.

Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins (at DET)

The Dolphins’ kicker is another one that checks all of the boxes. Jason Sanders has only made 77% of his field goals this season, but that percentage is a bit misleading. Sanders’ only misses have been from 50+. Inside the 50, he’s been perfect.

This week, the Dolphins are road favorites in Detroit. Prior to Week 7, the Lions were allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to kickers.

The Dolphins — like all of the Lions’ opponents — should have no trouble moving the ball against their defense. Detroit is allowing 32 points per game. As with Ezekiel Elliott, there’s always the risk Miami is just too efficient and keeps scoring touchdowns. Still, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to score. If the Lions can just bend and not break twice, that’s enough for Sanders to post a nice outing.
