Fantasy Injury Report: Trevor Lawrence, Chase Edmonds, and DeAndre Hopkins injury updates

As Week 10 of the NFL season approaches, be sure to stay updated with the latest injury report before setting your fantasy football lineups.

The unfortunate reality of the NFL is that when players are allowed to go full speed, injuries are bound to happen. Week 9 of the NFL season was no exception. Now that fantasy football managers are updating their lineups for the coming week, several players have found themselves on the injury report, leaving their status for Week 10 in the air.

Update 11/12/2021: For the most recent news on fantasy-relevant players, make sure to check out our up-to-date Week 10 Fantasy Injury Report.

Fantasy Football Injury Report: QB update

Which signal-callers are banged up coming out of Week 9? Who’s availability is in jeopardy for Week 10?

    Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Nearing halftime of the Jaguars’ Week 9 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Trevor Lawrence’s right ankle was stepped on by a lineman being driven backward. Lawrence would attempt to get up and walk it off but was quickly unable to do so, going back down onto the ground. Luckily enough, it appears Lawrence escaped major injury as he returned with just over a minute left to go in the first half.

After the game, Lawrence told reporters he sustained a lower ankle sprain, and X-rays showed no further damage. Lawrence will likely be questionable for Week 10, but he does not appear in danger of missing any time.

    Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray came into Week 9 a game-time decision due to an ankle injury, and after testing it in pregame warmups, the Cardinals listed Murray as inactive. The plan is to let him rest this week and allow him to be near full health for Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Football Injury Report: RB update

How is the injury bug affecting RB committees heading into Week 10? Will fantasy managers need to make backup plans just in case?

    Chase Edmonds, Arizona Cardinals

With Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins already out for the start of the game, the last thing they needed was another injury. RB Chase Edmonds ran for 3 yards on the Cardinals’ first offensive play and then limped off the field with an ankle injury. He was instantly listed as questionable. Edmonds did not return to the game.

James Conner went on to have a massive day and would be looking for a similar performance in Week 10. Conner played on 85% of the snaps and rushed 21 times for 96 yards with 2 touchdowns. He also added 5 receptions (5 targets) for 77 yards and another score.

    Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys

Ezekiel Elliott exited briefly with a right knee contusion in their loss to Denver. The Cowboys listed Elliott as questionable to return, but he was back for the team’s first offensive snap of the second half. Elliott ended the day with 51 yards on 10 carries.

    Damien Harris, New England Patriots

Damien Harris was hit in the backfield by Panthers defender Brian Burns immediately after taking a handoff midway through the fourth quarter. Harris stayed down on the turf for some time before eventually making his way to the sideline for further evaluation. Harris did not return to the game.

    Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots

Much like Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson suffered a head injury in the fourth quarter, coming about four minutes earlier from a hit by Jeremy Chinn. Both Harris and Stevenson will likely enter the NFL’s concussion protocol, leaving Brandon Bolden as the primary RB for now.

WR Injury Update for Week 10

News for pass catchers is essential in PPR leagues. These are the fantasy-relevant WRs currently on the NFL’s Week 10 injury report.

    DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals ruled DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) inactive for their Week 9 matchup. Hopkins was a game-time decision, and after testing out his hamstring in pregame warmups, the team opted to leave him on the sidelines (especially with Kyler Murray also sitting out). It is expected Hopkins will play in Week 10 against Carolina.

TE Injury Update for Week 10

Which tight end injuries should we be mindful of when setting our Week 10 fantasy lineups? Who is in danger of missing their next game?

    Jonnu Smith, New England Patriots

Jonnu Smith sustained a shoulder injury in Week 9. He has been a relative non-factor all season. He recorded 1 reception on 2 targets for 4 yards on Sunday.

    Albert Okwuegbunam, Denver Broncos

Albert Okwuegbunam sustained a knee injury in the team’s Week 9 victory over the Cowboys. Okwuegbunam was in a prime role filling in for Noah Fant, who was out for Week 9 after being placed on the COVID-19/reserve list. He only just recently returned from the injured reserve while he recovered from a hamstring injury.
