Rookie running backs
I ranked the rookies together because there’s so much potential in the secondary rookie running back market. While Josh Jacobs, David Montgomery, and Miles Sanders are considered top-100 picks, the rest of the class is available in the 10th round and beyond.
Devin Singletary, Damien Harris, Darwin Thompson, Tony Pollard, and Justice Hill all have the opportunity to carve out a significant role in their respective backfields.
Singletary is sharing work with LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore, and T.J. Yeldon, but the rookie running back out of FAU might be the most talented runner on the roster. While the old folks might steal the carries early in the season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Singletary finished 2019 as the Bills starting running back.
Harris is stuck in a committee in New England, as is Thompson in Kansas City. With Sony Michel‘s injury history and questions about Damien Williams‘ ability to be a full-time runner, both are worthy stashes at their current ADP. Both running backs have the talent and body-types to be number one running backs.
Pollard and Hill are two of the best receiving backs in the class, with a third-down role likely for both throughout their rookie season. I expect Hill to catch the most passes out of the Ravens backfield, while Pollard might start the year as the Dallas Cowboys RB1 if Ezekiel Elliott continues his holdout into the regular season.
