Fantasy Football Cut List Week 10: Christian Watson, Elijah Moore, and Quentin Johnston Can Go

As we head into Week 10 of the NFL season, who are the top cut-list candidates that fantasy football managers no longer need on their rosters?

Roster management is the single most crucial in-season task for fantasy football managers. Knowing which players to let go is as important as adding the right guys. Which players find themselves on our Week 10 fantasy football cut list?

Who Should You Cut in Fantasy Football for Week 10?

We are now entering the back half of the fantasy season, so the focus shifts toward the playoffs. Fantasy managers need to be cutting players who are either not going to help them get to the postseason or not going to help them during it.

Cam Akers, RB, Minnesota Vikings (54% Rostered)

Unfortunately, Cam Akers tore his other Achilles in the Minnesota Vikings’ win over the Falcons. That will end his season. Hopefully, it doesn’t end his career.

Justice Hill, RB, Baltimore Ravens (37% Rostered)

Even though Justice Hill carried the ball 13 times last week, he’s not a fantasy-relevant player. He also doesn’t have a path to relevance.

With rookie Keaton Mitchell‘s emergence, even if Gus Edwards were to go down, I’m confident Mitchell would be the primary beneficiary. Hill’s role would not change, and that role does not matter in fantasy.

    Let him go.

Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers (80% Rostered)

If you drafted Christian Watson this year, don’t go kicking yourself. He had really good efficiency metrics as a rookie, and sophomore WRs are historically great bets. But even a great bet is not 100%. There will always be busts. Watson is one of them.

In Watson’s defense, there’s not much anyone could do in a Jordan Love offense. He is undoubtedly not the Packers’ answer at quarterback. But he’s also far from the worst QB we’ve ever seen.

Good wide receivers find ways to make it work. Garrett Wilson has made it work with Zach Wilson. We saw Marquise Brown do enough with Josh Dobbs. The simple fact is Watson just isn’t good enough right now. He’s failed to score more than 6.3 fantasy points in three straight games. You are never starting him, so what depth is he really providing?

Elijah Moore, WR, Cleveland Browns (48% Rostered)

I had Elijah Moore’s name on here last week. His roster percentage has dropped, but he’s still on too many rosters.

Moore has topped double-digit fantasy points just once this season. He’s caught more than four passes just once. Over the past two weeks, Moore has caught two passes in each game. Against the Arizona Cardinals, he commanded a mere two targets.

We have learned this year that there was a very good reason the Jets phased him out last season. Good players earn targets. Moore does not earn targets. You don’t need me to do that math for you. Drop him.

Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers (35% Rostered)

The vast majority of you have already jettisoned Stephen Hill — I mean — Quentin Johnston from your roster. The Los Angeles Chargers first-round bust is on the field plenty but is completely incapable of commanding targets.

Johnston caught just two of three targets for 14 yards on Monday Night Football. He’s now seen more than three targets in just one game this season.

We’ve seen every other first-round WR produce to varying degrees of success. We’ve even witnessed Day 2 and even some Day 3 wide receivers able to make an impact. Johnston can’t because the underlying talent isn’t there.

If he can’t be fantasy-viable in a game where both Mike Williams and Joshua Palmer are not playing, it’s certainly not happening this year.
