Roster management is the single most crucial in-season task for fantasy football players. Just as important as adding the right players is knowing when players need to go. Which players find themselves on our Week 11 fantasy football cut list?
Fantasy Week 11 Cut List | Quarterbacks
Let’s go position by position and pinpoint players that no longer need to be on your fantasy roster. Which fantasy quarterbacks are on the Week 11 cut list?
Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns
Somehow still rostered in 39% of Yahoo leagues, Baker Mayfield is just not a fantasy-relevant quarterback. Mayfield hasn’t attempted more than 32 passes in a game this season. His season-high in fantasy points is just 23, and it was in that epic 89-point shootout against the Chargers.
Mayfield may have some favorable matchups on the schedule, but the reality is they just don’t matter. The Browns only want to run and will do so regardless of game script. You can safely cut Mayfield.
Running Backs
There is just one fantasy running back on the Week 11 cut list. While adding Jeremy McNichols seemed like the smart move following Derrick Henry’s injury, he’s safe to cut going forward.
Jeremy McNichols, Tennessee Titans
McNichols remains on 52% of Yahoo rosters. He was certainly worth a shot on waivers after Henry went down, but it’s clear after two weeks that McNichols’ role isn’t changing.
Last week, McNichols played just 27% of the offensive snaps. He’s going to see 4-6 carries a game and 2-4 targets. He’s scored above 6.5 PPR fantasy points just once all season. The gamble was worth taking, but the answer in the Titans’ backfield is not McNichols. He’s not the answer for your fantasy team either.
Week 11 Fantasy Football Cut List | Wide Receivers
Which fantasy wide receivers are on the Week 11 cut list? A pair of Browns highlight the list this week.
Jarvis Landry, Cleveland Browns
Fantasy managers tend to be reluctant to drop established names. It’s why Allen Robinson remains on 73% of Yahoo teams despite failing to even reach 11 fantasy points in a single game this season. Why exactly do we need to hang onto Jarvis Landry?
In Week 1, Landry recorded 19.4 fantasy points. Since then, his highest total has been 10. Since returning from injured reserve, he has posted 8.7, 4.1, and 6.6 points in three games. He’s been targeted exactly 5 times in his past two games. The Browns are a low-volume passing offense, and Landry is a guy that needs volume to produce. It’s just a bad combination that is not helping your fantasy team. Now, Landry is on the fantasy football cut list.
Marvin Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
The first three weeks of the season looked so promising for Marvin Jones. He reached double-digit fantasy points in all of them. However, since then, he’s hit double-digits just once. Outside of Week 6, Jones’ highest receiving yardage total since Week 3 is only 35.
Trevor Lawrence isn’t pushing the ball downfield, and Jamal Agnew is stealing underneath work. You are never going to start Jones, so you can just send him back to the waiver wire.
Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cleveland Browns
There was a reason Donovan Peoples-Jones did not appear on my Week 10 waiver wire column. Despite his 16.6 fantasy-point effort, there was just no reason to recommend picking him up.
DPJ has certainly seen his snap share increase without Odell Beckham Jr. Unfortunately, targets and production won’t follow due to the Browns’ aforementioned low-volume passing attack. Last week, Peoples-Jones caught just 1 pass on 5 targets. The week before, he caught 2 balls on 3 targets. I understand people like his athleticism, but for the fantasy football cut list, Peoples-Jones just doesn’t have any value.
