We are now officially into Week 12 of the 2023 NFL season. Who should you be looking to spend significant FAAB on this week, and who should you be looking to let others in your league go after? Let’s break down the top waiver wire options and who to add to help improve your fantasy football roster.
Week 12 Fantasy FAAB Picks and Advice
Quarterbacks
Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Before a bit of a dud performance against a very good San Francisco 49ers defense in Week 11, Mayfield had finished as a top-12 fantasy QB in four straight games. He’s a fine streaming option against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12.
FAAB recommendation: 3%
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams: Stafford worked his way back into the starting lineup in Week 11 after his injury, but he failed to make much of an impact in fantasy. In Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals, though, the veteran QB can be viewed as a fine streaming option.
FAAB recommendation: 2%
The Best of the Rest: Gardner Minshew (IND), Jordan Love (GB): 1% FAAB bid recommendation
Running Backs
Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks: With the news that Kenneth Walker III is likely set to miss time with an injury, Zach Charbonnet will inherit a significant workload in this Seattle Seahawks offense. We’ve seen the talent level on display, and Charbonnet could be a potential league-winner down the stretch.
FAAB recommendation: 20%
Ty Chandler, Minnesota Vikings: Chandler got his first significant opportunity in Week 11 alongside Alexander Mattison, and he looked the part with 10 carries for 73 yards and an additional 37 yards through the air. There’s a path for him to continue seeing substantial volume moving forward, and that’s worth adding to your roster.
FAAB recommendation: 8%
Ezekiel Elliott, New England Patriots: Ezekiel Elliott isn’t doing enough on his own to provide stand-alone top-24 RB value for fantasy managers, but he holds upside if something were to happen to Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson. Even in a poor offense, the volume would push him into top-24 consideration on a weekly basis.
FAAB recommendation: 5%
The Best of the Rest: Tyjae Spears (TEN), Rico Dowdle (DAL), Elijah Mitchell (SF), Roschon Johnson (CHI): All below 5% FAAB recommendation
Wide Receivers
Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts: Josh Downs is coming off of his bye week, so fantasy managers may not be thinking about him.

Before he got a bit banged up, though, Downs was on a dominant stretch where he was commanding targets from Minshew in this offense. The extra week off should have given him extra time to rest up.
FAAB recommendation: 8%
Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers: We’ve now seen Jayden Reed finish with 10 or more half-PPR points in four of his last five games. While the Green Bay offense isn’t exactly a top-tier unit, Reed’s doing enough to be in weekly Flex conversation.
FAAB recommendation: 7%
Odell Beckham Jr., Baltimore Ravens: TE Mark Andrews is done for the year for the Ravens, which means there are plenty of available targets to now be spread around this offense. Beckham is starting to look like his former self now, and the chemistry with QB Lamar Jackson is building. He’s a fine depth add moving forward.
FAAB recommendation: 7%
The Best of the Rest: Noah Brown (HOU), Rashid Shaheed (NO), Tutu Atwell (LAR), Elijah Moore (CLE), and Khalil Shakir (BUF): All below 5% FAAB recommendation
Tight Ends
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens: Isaiah Likely didn’t do much back in Week 1 when Mark Andrews was injured to begin the year, but he has a massive opportunity in front of him now. Andrews is sidelined for at least the remainder of this fantasy season, and Likely was a solid fantasy asset in 2022 when Andrews missed action. If you lost the star tight end this week, go after Likely heavily on the waiver wire.
FAAB recommendation: 8%
The Best of the Rest: Cade Otton (TB), Jonnu Smith (ATL), Luke Musgrave (GB), and Hunter Henry (NE): All below 5% FAAB recommendation
