DFS Strategy: Joe Burrow Leads the Way
Burrow has been as consistent an option as there is in fantasy all season, making him an excellent choice to captain your lineup. Burrow is the QB2 overall in fantasy football this season behind Lamar Jackson. Consistency has been his calling card, as he’s only had three games with fewer than 15 fantasy points all season compared to five with 25 or more.
The Cowboys’ defense is highly unlikely to hold Burrow beneath his sky-high ceiling. Dallas allows the fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. The Cowboys also give up the second-most yards after the catch per reception (6.5), which spells significant trouble against Cincinnati’s explosive weapons.
DFS Strategy: Tee Higgins, Chase Brown, and Cade York
Ja’Marr Chase may be the top target in this game, and we have no qualms if you want to build your lineup around him. But Chase’s regular salary ($11,600) means you’ll have to fill out your lineup with depth options. Given that both offenses are fairly top-heavy, it makes more sense to fit in as many stars as you can.
Being able to squeeze both Higgins and Brown may be the better play overall. The Cowboys allow the third-most PPR points per game to running backs thanks to the 15 touchdowns they’ve given up to RBs. Only three teams have allowed more running back touchdowns this season.
Higgins should also be able to thrive in this game as a true X receiver. On passes outside the numbers, Dallas ranks 26th in yards per attempt allowed (8.5). Over half of Higgins’ targets come on the perimeter, where he averages a robust 13.7 yards per target.
Finally, Cincinnati has a new kicker after placing Evan McPherson on injured reserve. The Bengals signed Cade York, who kicked in one game for the Washington Commanders this season. While York doesn’t have much of a track record, he should receive plenty of scoring chances to post a fairly safe output.
DFS Strategy: Jake Ferguson and Brandon Aubrey
On the Cowboys’ side, Dallas will get its TE1 back. Ferguson missed the past two games with a concussion but cleared the protocol at the start of this week and has been a full participant in practice all week.
The Bengals allow the second-most PPR points per game to tight ends. Only the Carolina Panthers have allowed more touchdowns to tight ends than the Bengals, who also rank 26th in yards per target allowed to tight ends. While Ferguson has disappointed this year, the matchup makes him a nice mid-level option for your lineup.
And yes, this lineup has both kickers in it, a byproduct of the stars-and-scrubs approach. Brandon Aubrey has been a very high-floor option though, particularly at AT&T Stadium. Aubrey has attempted multiple field goals in all but one game this season and bounced back with a perfect Week 13 after missing three kicks over his prior two games combined. He’s the rare kicker who you’ll want in your lineup over a Hail Mary depth skill player.
