Aaron Rodgers became the target of jokes for several people after his latest take. The New York Jets quarterback has previously turned fans heads with his thoughts on other matters.
This time around, it was related to football. Rodgers was praising Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff, but unbeknownst to him, the reason for the praise was false.
Fans Make Jokes at Expense of Aaron Rodgers
During his appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show, the 40-year-old Rodgers revealed a stat about Goff on-air. He wanted to seek confirmation regarding Goff winning seven games in which he has been intercepted 4+ times.
While Rodgers was seeking confirmation regarding this, the ESPN crew shared their agreement. However, one user on X (previously Twitter) dropped a bombshell pretty quickly.
“If you’ve ever wondered how easy it is to spread fake information I made this stat up while laying in bed at halftime of the game,” he tweeted.

This is also the same user who had generated Goff’s incredible stat tweet. His original tweet was community-checked by X, but that did not save Rodgers and the ESPN crew from embarrassment as the fans piled on.
“No wonder Aaron Rodgers believes in conspiracy theories LMAO,” one fan responded.

Rodgers Still Has Hopes for Making the Playoffs
After the Jets’ 31-6 loss against the Arizona Cardinals, the future looks bleak for New York. Nevertheless, during his appearance on ESPN, Rodgers made it known that he still believes that his team can pull through.
“You gotta hold on to that beautiful thing in life called hope,” he said. “There’s a chance. We’re not mathematically eliminated. There’s a lot to play for. At the end of the day, one thing that we can play for, whether we’re 10-0 or 3-7 is pride.”
The Jets are currently 11th in the AFC playoff picture but still do have an outside chance of making the playoffs. They will welcome the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 17 for their Week 11 matchup.
