Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered his second crushing defeat in the Super Bowl as the two-time defending champions were humbled by the vengeance-seeking Philadelphia Eagles, who registered a comfortable 40-22 win.
The only other time Mahomes was defeated in the big game was Super Bowl 55, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the greatest quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, beat the Chiefs 31-9.
Fans React to Patrick Mahomes’ Super Bowl Motivation
On Monday, Dov Kleiman uploaded a video where Mahomes talks with his teammates, encouraging them to stick it to detractors who have already counted the Chiefs out for the 2025 season.
“We’ll be back here, bro,” Mahomes said on the sidelines.
Mahomes’ superstar teammate Chris Jones added, “We’ll be back. Yeah, yeah. We can build off of this, man. These are valuable lessons. When you lose, you learn. You learn a lot. We’ve been so spoiled, and over the last two years, all we know is winning.”

Hearing Mahomes and Jones aspiring to get back in the Super Bowl, fans had sharp reactions.
“I don’t believe that. They need a rebuild slightly,” one fan commented.
“Maybe we will see them blow out some teams at least!” another joked.
“I respect the mindset. Unfortunate for them, they will never win a Super Bowl again as long as Jalen Hurts is in the league,” another added.

What Are the Chiefs Super Bowl Odds for Next Season?
Contrary to what many fans believe, the Chiefs are among those favored to win Super Bowl 60.
According to BetMGM Sportsbook, the Eagles are favored to repeat as champions with +625 odds. The Chiefs are not far behind, with odds lurking around +650. The Buffalo Bills (+675), Baltimore Ravens (+675) and Detroit Lions (+1100) round out the top five.
Mahomes has history to back up these odds. He has already been to five Super Bowls and has won three of them. While he has struggled in those games that he didn’t win, if there is one quarterback who can challenge Brady’s legacy in the near future, it’s him.
