‘Birds Have a Better Built Squad This Time’ – Fans Disapprove Stephen A. Smith’s Analysis of Jalen Hurts and Team

Quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game in dominant fashion. With the win, they advanced to the Super Bowl, where they will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch from two years ago. Two days after Philadelphia’s big win, media personality Stephen A. Smith said that Hurts needs to do more for his team to win.

Fans React to Stephen A. Smith Saying That Jalen Hurts Needs To Do More

When Smith said that Hurts needs to do more to win the Super Bowl, he made sure his co-hosts knew that he wasn’t saying so as any form of criticism. Smith pointed out that while he doesn’t believe Hurts is a top-five NFL quarterback, he has performed well.

However, he said that when playing against one of the best QBs of all time in Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Hurts needs to be better to give the Eagles a chance to win.

Fans reacted largely negatively to these comments. Some pointed out that Hurts doesn’t need to play up to Mahomes’ standard because he has a better team around him.

“Birds have a better built squad this time around than last time,” one fan wrote.

“Stephen A the day after the Eagles win the Super Bowl: ” i told yall this brotha was something special, i knew all along this brotha would beat the Chiefs”,” one fan commented.

“All we want is the media to have that same energy for those ‘Great’ QB they love sitting at home while Jalen in his second Superbowl..that’s all we’re saying,” one fan added.

Fans continued to make their opinions known in the comments on X.

“The Eagles are in the SB because of [Saquon] Barkley and the Oline, not Jalen. All they need him to do is not turn the ball over,” one fan wrote.

“Are you guys idiots or did you not see Hurts severely outplay Mahomes in last years Super Bowl? I know you just judge based on who got the win. Mahomes gets credit for his team running the ball down the field and throwing screen passes for touchdowns!” one fan commented.

“You mean to beat Andy Reed and Spags. [Josh] Allen [Joe] Burrow and LJ [Lamar Jackson] would be winning superbowls if they were on KC too,” one fan added.

Hurts and the Eagles will have a chance to avenge their loss from two years ago in the Super Bowl on Feb. 9.
