Whether people want to accept it or not, the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce intrigue is not going away any time soon. The storyline has swept through the NFL and has been the talk of Hollywood as well, as the 12-time Grammy winner and Pro Bowl tight end have gotten friendly in the public eye.
Swift was in attendance last week as the Chiefs took on the Chicago Bears in Kansas City. Unless you live under a rock or are actively trying to avoid the news, you know that she is also planning to be in New York in Kelce’s suite as the Chiefs take on the Jets on Sunday Night Football.
With that, there looks to be some competing information on whether the NFL is fully embracing their “Swift Era” by handing out friendship bracelets to Chiefs fans in attendance. Let’s take a closer look at if that is actually the case or not.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Are Friendship Bracelets Getting Passed Out to Chiefs Fans?
Former college basketball player and current NFL insider Jordan Schultz is really the one who started the confusion for fans across the league when he tweeted:
Sources: The NFL will give away 1989 Sunday Ticket-themed friendship bracelets to #Chiefs’ fans at MetLife Stadium, in “honor of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.”
I’m told the plan is for her to watch from Kelce’s suite for the #Jets’ game. https://t.co/DrllYiJPJE pic.twitter.com/BtAoGBkHbe

While the fact that Swift will be in attendance in Kelce’s suite is true — the bit of information regarding the bracelets supported and backed by the NFL — does not look to be accurate. Schultz shared photos of how the bracelet would look, including a hashtag and QR code promoting YouTube TV’s NFL Sunday Ticket.

However, it looks as if that information was false and the NFL will not be doing so, according to SNYtv NFL reporter Connor J. Hughes who tweeted:
Sources: The NFL & #Jets are NOT giving out friendship bracelets to #Chiefs fans attending Sunday Night Football. That’s not happening.

With the competing stories coming out, it begs the question just where the report of the bracelets even came from. Was it misinformation that was reported accidentally, or was it a way to further push the Swift/Kelce hysteria?
Either way, it does not look to be the case, and it is one less thing we need to worry about for the superstar couple.
Travis Kelce Rising Above the Noise
While many feel like this may be a distraction for Kelce and the team, it does not look to be the case on the field so far. The only game the Chiefs have lost this season was the only game Kelce didn’t play. And since his return to the lineup, Kelce has been his productive self for the team.
Things could always change, but for right now, it does not look like the Kelce/Swift pairing is affecting the on-field product.
