Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, Jan. 17, and discussed the prospects of Deion Sanders becoming an NFL head coach.
Jones also chipped in with some insider insights on the Las Vegas Raiders’ and Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching searches — two teams that Sanders has been linked to.
Former Pro Bowler Believes Deion Sanders Will Turn Down Raiders, Cowboys Roles
Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Jones asserted that the Cowboys would look elsewhere from Sanders for their head coaching role. He also dropped a bombshell on the Raiders’ head coaching situation.
“Alright, first and foremost, the next Dallas Cowboys coach is going to be Kellen Moore,” Jones said. “Everybody knows that, with the relationship that he has over there.”

“Deion is not leaving Colorado, by no means necessary — unless he is able to coach both of his sons, which I don’t think that’s possible, because sources say that Ben Johnson is going to be the Raiders coach. Like, real good sources.
“I don’t think that Deion is going nowhere. I think it was good entertainment, but I don’t think that Deion is going to Jerry World.”
Moore going to the Cowboys is a completely believable story. He was the offensive coordinator for the franchise under Mike McCarthy and had a good track record of working with Dak Prescott.
However, the reports about the Raiders zeroing in on Ben Johnson seem to be unsubstantiated. Bleacher Report insider Jordan Schultz’s sources are feeding him info that conflicts with Jones’ sources. Schultz appeared on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Jan. 17 to speak on the same subjects.

“I’m not willing to go so far as to say that Ben Johnson is the favorite with the Raiders,” Schultz said. “I know the Raiders really like him. I know that he has multiple options — including Jacksonville, which is a really good job — and the [Chicago Bears].”
The #Raiders are interested in Ben Johnson, and vise-versa. But it’s too early to call him the favorite.
As I mentioned yesterday on @TheHerd with @colincowherd, pump the brakes — Johnson is still very much in play for both Chicago and Jacksonville. pic.twitter.com/CeZw5toQTa

“The Raiders are in the mix, and we’ve talked about this. Tom Brady’s a big factor there, as he should be. But if you’re Ben Johnson, and you have your pick of the litter, you’re going to take a long look at where you could win and where you could develop.”
“And the Raiders, although a lot to be said about that franchise historically, do not have a quarterback, and they do not have a roster as the Bears and Jacksonville.”
Based on the combination of the two reports, it seems that, while Sanders is likely to stay with the Colorado Buffaloes, Ben Johnson could still be in the mix for other head coaching roles around the NFL.
