Deion Sanders has changed the face of Colorado football since taking over as the head coach last year. Coach Prime’s recent gesture has him earning praise once again.
Former Green Bay Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari shared his admiration of Sanders, too. The Colorado HC recently talked about disability insurance for his players ahead of the Alamo Bowl.
David Bakhtiari Praises Deion Sanders for His Stance
Sanders is well aware of the nitty-gritty of being a top draft prospect (he was the fifth overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft). As such, Sanders and Co. have announced that they’ll be providing disability insurance to their draft-bound players against BYU.
“We have a multitude of players that are draftable, that they received a draft grade,” Sanders said. “They had disability (insurance) all season long, we want to make sure that if something were to happen, they would cover it.”
Bakhtiyari took to X (formerly Twitter) and highlighted Sanders’ love for the game and the players. “This man has his finger on the pulse,” he tweeted.

Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are expected to be top picks in the upcoming draft.
The QB and the WR/cornerback duo will also take the field in the Alamo Bowl with Coach Prime suggesting their insurance policies are some of the biggest (if not the biggest) in college football history.
Former Cowboys WR Wants Mike McCarthy or Sanders
Sanders has been linked to rumors of taking over Mike McCarthy’s job with the Dallas Cowboys next season. Coach Prime has remained adamant that he will be sticking with Colorado — as such, Keyshawn Johnson wants the Cowboys to hang on to McCarthy.
“All I’m saying is the man did go 49-33,” said about McCarthy on FS1’s “Speak.” “He’s 1-3 in the postseason, which is not great. He has won two division titles.
“But there are coaches around the league who get an opportunity to make some mistakes and rebuild the thing back up to where it needs to be.”
.@Keyshawn believes Mike McCarthy should get an extension with the Cowboys unless Deion Sanders is available

“If it’s Deion Sanders, you and I are going to jump up and down on the table; if you’re not getting Prime, who else are you getting?” added Johnson, highlighting the dilemma that Jerry Jones will face after the end of this season.
