Aaron Rodgers was brought to the New York Jets not only to bring victories but to change the mindset of the franchise as well. However, with their latest loss against the New England Patriots, both of those are in jeopardy.
Former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has laid out a test for Rodgers amidst the slim possibility of making the playoffs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick Wants To See the Mentality of Aaron Rodgers
As per PFN’s Playoff Predictor, the Jets are destined to finish at the bottom of the AFC East division. Fitzpatrick picked up on this point that the Jets have a dismal future ahead in the regular season and pointed out a narrative that would be a test of Rodgers’ character for the Jets.
“The biggest tell for me on who Aaron Rodgers is as a teammate will be when the Jets are out of the playoff picture and he’s worn out and beat down as all players are during the season…does he keep playing???” he tweeted on X (formerly Twitter).

The Jets are on a five-game losing streak despite wholesale changes. From firing their head coach and recruiting the QB’s preferred receiver, however, these haven’t led to positive changes on the field on both sides of the ball.
In this condition, Rodgers’ willingness to step up week in and week out will show his commitment not only to his teammates but also to the city and the franchise.
Aaron Rodgers Talks About the Darkness of the Jets’ Situation
The four-time NFL MVP has been through several ups and downs in an almost 20-year career at the highest level of the game. However, after the loss against the Patriots and the possibility of not being able to break the Jets’ 13-year wait for the playoffs, he is disheartened.
“Yeah, I’ve been in the darkness,” Rodgers said to the media. “You’ve got to go in there, make peace with it.” Away from the field, the 40-year-old has real experience of the darkness as well.
