Saquon Barkley Is All Set for Revenge as He Chases Greatness

In his last outing against the Dallas Cowboys, Barkley rushed for 167 yards getting his season total to 2,005 yards. The 27-year-old is 101 yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson’s NFL single-season rushing record from 1984.

During FS1’s “The Facility,” Acho wants the words of Tiki Barber to ring in his ears as he steps foot at Lincoln Financial Field. Barber, along with several fans of the Giants, led a brutal campaign against Barkley after he signed with the Eagles.

“See, sometimes when you get blessed in the presence of your enemies, it’s even sweeter because you know who’s calling the game? …Public enemy number one is going to be in that stadium in Tiki Barber. Tiki Barber is going to have to do the broadcast.

“The same Tiki Barber said, you’re dead to us. The same Tiki Barber… is going to have to call the game while you, Saquon Barkley, break the record. He gonna have to verbally bless you after he tried to curse you.”

“Saquon, they know mistakes been made. Go break the record in the presence of your enemies. It’s time to eat,” he added.

Nick Sirianni Throws a Wrench in Barkley’s Ambitions

Since last week, it has been rumored that Barkley might not even get the chance to break the record after becoming the ninth-ever player to reach 2,000+ rushing yards in a season. Now, the Eagles’ head coach Nick Sirianni has all but confirmed it.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (26) tries to get way from Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dee Alford (20) and linebacker Kaden Elliss (55) at Lincoln Financial Field.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Sirianni pointed out that several of the key players will be rested on Sunday. “He’ll (Barkley) probably be somebody that rests,” said the HC.

“It wasn’t the easiest decision to go through,” Sirianni added. Barkley and his fans must be heartbroken, but, they will also understand the bigger picture of the playoffs, and a Super Bowl run is in their grasp due to this call.
