Ex-Lions QB Underlines Why Nick Sirianni’s Viral Confrontation With Eagles Fans Was a “Terrible Look”

Nick Sirianni got called out by a former Lions QB for his spat with the Eagles' fan base after defeating the Browns 20-16 at home.

The Philadelphia Eagles registered a 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. However, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Sirianni was involved in a spat with Eagles fans, and now, a former NFL quarterback called him out.

Former Detroit Lions QB-turned-analyst Dan Orlovsky had issues with Sirianni engaging with home fans in the manner that he did. And Orlovsky did not shy away from sharing his feelings.

Dan Orlovsky Shames Nick Sirianni for His Behavior With Eagles Fans

The Browns have officially registered themselves as one of the worst offensive units in the league after their Week 6 loss. Eagles fans were unhappy with their team’s laid-back approach and cruising towards the win, they let their feelings known with a crescendo of boos.

However, in the final minute of the four-point win, Sirianni walked towards that section of the crowd and started verbally arguing with them. On Monday, Orlovsky during ESPN’s First Take took up the issue.

“For Nick Sirianni to act that way when you squeaked by Cleveland who is in an absolute tailspin by four points,” said Orlovsky. “To go and talk to that fanbase, when you come across that you’re better, more important than the fans.”

Orlovsky further highlighted the tough nature of Philly fans and their attitude towards the game. “That city, that fanbase, week to week, their happiness is dependent upon how that football team performs because they truly feelt that they’re part of the wins and losses,” continued Orlosky.

“For him to walk that way and talk that way… it’s a complete unaware feeling. You don’t understand it and you don’t get how those people want to be valued.”

After the win, Sirianni appeared at the press conference with his three kids and refused to talk much about the incident. However, his tune changed, and on Monday, the 43-year-old issued an apology.

“My energy should be all in on coaching and celebrating with our guys. I’ve got to have better wisdom and discernment on when to use it and that wasn’t the time,” said Sirianni.

The Eagles have already enjoyed a bye week and will be on the road for their Week 7 matchup, taking on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 20.
