In Week 9, the Colorado Buffaloes secured a 34-23 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats, with quarterback Shedeur Sanders stunning fans with his electrifying performance.
The projected first-round pick completed 25 of 30 passes for 323 yards while throwing two touchdowns, along with rushing for another one-yard score.
Following the completion of Colorado’s thrilling win, head coach (and Shedeur’s father) Deion Sanders wore his dad’s cap during the post-game press conference and heaped praise for his son.
Deion Sanders Praises Son Shedeur Sanders After Win
“Tonight was one of those nights, and that means that’s what we expect. He is so darn good that we don’t give him the credit that he deserves for some of the things that he does. See, you don’t even know that stuff because you’re into the game and you’re coaching; you don’t even think about that kind of stuff.
“I remember I think he did that one time in Jackson. He was phenomenal, like that. But wow, wow, wow. And he’s not even mentioned for the Heisman? My bad — he’s my son, that’s why,” said the former Dallas Cowboys star.

Shedeur wasn’t the only Colorado star who received praise from Coach Prime.
Travis Hunter also had a tremendous game against Cincinnati, finishing with nine receptions and 153 yards while scoring two touchdowns. On the defensive side, Hunter had two total tackles, including a four-pass breakup and solo effort.

“Travis Hunter is the best college football player in the country. We all know that. Why are we even deliberating over that? We all know that. Why are we even deliberating over that? What are we doing? Like, when does that change? So what’s the criteria? Somebody needs to say what’s the criteria of that prestigious award,” the elder Sanders added.
Deion Sanders’ Colorado Secures Bowl Eligibility
After a disappointing 4-8 record during his first season as Colorado’s head coach, Deion Sanders was keen on changing the team’s momentum for Year 2.
And that’s exactly what he did.
Coach Prime almost changed the entire offensive line and brought in talents like five-star OL Jordan Seaton, Tyler Brown, Khalil Benson, and others. Meanwhile, the Hall of Famer has also brought in big NFL names, such as Warren Sapp, to his coaching staff.
In 2024, the Buffaloes have successfully turned things around for themselves with a 6-2 record. Now, in Week 10, they gear up to take on Patrick Mahomes’ alma mater, the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
