Jordan Addison is slowly and steadily making a place for himself within the highly decorated Minnesota Vikings wideout room. However, news of his trade had a former Dallas Cowboys WR trumped.
The news, as it turns out, was fake/satire. However, Dez Bryant’s take had NFL fans amused.
Dez Bryant Falls for Fake Jordan Addison Trade News
Addison was picked in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Vikings. In his rookie season, he appeared in all 17 games, starting 14 of them. He took 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.
This season, the wide receiver has been dealing with injuries and has played in only five games. He’s recorded 14 receptions for 231 yards and a touchdown on 23 targets.
One satirical NFL news account on X (previously Twitter) had fun with its followers by making up trade news involving Addison and the New England Patriots. “BREAKING: The New England Patriots are close to acquiring Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison. Details to the trade are still being finalized per source,” he tweeted.

Despite the account clearly stating it’s satirical, the former Cowboys WR fell for the post and responded, “Vikings outta pocket sending him to the Patriots lol.”
Bryant realized his mistake soon enough and deleted his tweet moments later.
Update on Addison’s Court Appearance and Possible Repercussions
This past July, Addison was arrested and charged in California with two misdemeanors on suspicion of DUI in California. His original court appearance was set for Oct. 7; however, the hearing has been rescheduled for Dec. 13.
That date falls two days after the Vikings’ Week 14 game against the Arizona Cardinals. The NFL has not yet disciplined Addison, possibly waiting for the court case to wind up. Therefore, it’s possible the 22-year-old faces some sort of league suspension during the 2025 season.
As per the NFL’s policy, first-time criminal offenders in cases involving alcohol could be suspended for up to three games.
