As quickly as Week 5 comes, it is gone even quicker. Down to just the Monday night matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Green Bay Packers, fantasy football managers are already looking to potentially get on the waiver wire and make a move.
One of those guys who has continued to make plays is Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado. He carried the ball 10 times for 45 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals and got in the end zone.
Was this a one-game fluke for Demercado, or is he a guy to pick up off the waiver wire?

Should Emari Demercado Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 6?
The Cardinals have been a tough team to get a track on when it comes to this season. They entered the season as a team many people thought would tank. However, they have been extremely competitive to start the year, even defeating the Dallas Cowboys.

However, Arizona is a team that needs help in a lot of places and just doesn’t have a lot of high-level talent. One thing that is going to do is allow the team to really look at their entire roster to see which guys should be a part of the future.
Demercado, a rookie from TCU, was the newest guy to get a look on Sunday. Before the game against the Bengals, he had only four carries in the first three games, getting a total of three total yards. However, no other player on the Cardinals got the ball more in Week 5, as he had 10 carries and a catch for 12 yards.
A big reason why he got the touches is because starting running back James Conner went out with an injury. It is still unknown how long the injury will take, but if Conner is able to play, then he once again will be the starting running back.
Editor’s Note: Conner has been placed on injured reserve by the Arizona Cardinals.
Demercado got his opportunity and definitely showed he is capable of making some plays. However, does that mean you should sign him off the waiver wire as a priority add in the upcoming week? Not exactly, as he needs to show he is going to be a focal point of the offense for more than one week.
He had only four touches in the first four weeks, and that is something that you can’t just forget. However, with Conner now being out for the next four games at least, the rookie RB has some appeal as a fill-in option for fantasy lineups that are being hit hard by injuries.
