    Titans vs. Eagles Prediction

The Titans are coming off of a tough loss this past week against the Cincinnati Bengals. They fell 20-16 and now stand with a 7-4 record, but they’re clearly in first place of the AFC South and seemed destined to make the playoffs.

However, with the Eagles boasting a 10-1 record, this game will be an incredibly tough test to determining how they’ll fare against the league’s top teams.

Philadelphia boasts a strong offense, but they’re going to meet a tough opponent this week in a Titans defensive unit that’s allowing just 18.6 points per game up to this point of the season.

The Eagles were able to run for over 300 yards as a team against the Packers, which helped deliver them the victory in Week 12, but that’s highly unlikely to happen here against Tennessee. The Titans are allowing the third-fewest rushing yards per game with just 84.5, and the Eagles will be forced to rely on their passing game more this week.

The key to winning this game for Tennessee centers — as it always does — around No. 22 on offense. When Derrick Henry is rolling, there’s not a defensive front that can slow him down.

This also will take pressure off of Ryan Tannehill and the offensive line against a pass rush that ranks in the top five in sacks per game. If Henry can keep the chains moving, with the play-action working off of that, the Titans can keep this Eagles offense on the sideline and control the clock.

As mentioned earlier, the Eagles’ offense is rolling this season, and it’s a large reason why they’re nearly perfect on the year. They’re putting up the third-most points in the league this season with 27.5 per game and they have a shocking +87-point differential.

Jalen Hurts has taken impressive strides forward as a passer this year, and A.J. Brown has been the perfect compliment to his skill set as a receiver. The running game came to life again this past week with Miles Sanders rumbling for 143 yards, Hurts running for 157, and even Kenneth Gainwell getting involved with 39 yards and a touchdown.

The Titans are a much more difficult matchup than the Packers on the ground, though. So we could see the Eagles need more from their receiving weapons and asking someone other than Brown and DeVonta Smith to step up with Dallas Goedert out.

The key for Philadelphia to walk away as victors at the end of this battle lies on the defensive side of the ball. The Eagles are going to have a tough task in front of them with attempting to shut down Henry and the Titans’ rushing attack, but the blueprint was just put on paper for them last week.

The Bengals kept Henry to just 2.2 yards per attempt, allowing them to walk away with a win. If the reinforcements that Howie Roseman has recently brought in on defense can control the line of scrimmage, there’s a strong possibility that the Eagles advance to 11-1 on the year.
