Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley did a very noble thing recently: He stood up for Taylor Swift.
Many know Swift came to New Orleans to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, during Super Bowl LIX.
While she was there, to her surprise, she was booed.

What Did Barkley Say?
Barkley didn’t understand what Swift’s booing was all about.
“I remember that they showed her on the Jumbotron and she got booed. I don’t get why she was getting hate there—She’s there supporting her significant other & made the game bigger.”

A big part of why Swift was jeered can be attributed to the pro-Philadelphia Eagles crowd. Considering the sea of green jerseys in the Caesars Superdome stands, it’s not entirely surprising Swift was the recipient of some verbal dissatisfaction.
Before the game, there were even t-shirts adorned in Eagles colors floating around that said “F Taylor Swift.”
Another reason may have been her political stance. Swift supported Kamala Harris for president this past election year and encouraged her millions of fans to do the same, which may not have sat well with some people.
But probably the biggest reason she was booed, as Barkley mentioned, is her relationship with Kelce. The pair have been dating for the past two years, and there was speculation that Kelce may have even proposed to her if the Chiefs had won.
Other Stars Supported Swift Too
Barkley wasn’t the only celebrity showing love to the superstar. Serena Williams, who was part of Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show, tweeted her love and support for Swift.
“I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!”

As for Kelce, he was reportedly devastated when he heard Swift was being booed.
A source told the Daily Mail that Kelce felt helpless.
“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed[,] and he felt helpless,” the source said. “Seeing the look on her face got to him. He always protects her[,] and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night[,] and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her[,] and anyone can see this.”
You have to wonder if her being booed affected his game. The normally reliable Kelce dropped a few passes and did not catch any touchdowns in the loss.
As for Swift, while she appeared confused by the booing at first, she eventually seemed to take everything in stride and was able to continue to enjoy the game with her friends.
