It’s Day 2 of NFL free agency, so who else should be set to make a splash other than Howie Roseman and the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles?
With a handful of key players already moving on, at least one Eagles star seems convinced Roseman has something big up his sleeve.

Lane Johnson Hints At Big Move From Howie “Magic Man” Roseman
Nowadays, the NFL practically moves through cryptic messages on X.
Eagles star offensive tackle Lane Johnson is the latest to hype up a potential move with a social media post, saying, “Howie SZN” with an eye emoji.
It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Roseman has a big move around the corner, as he has a reputation for making huge upgrades to the roster.
However, Roseman said things will be much different in Philly this offseason, and it looks like he’s staying true to his word.
The Eagles’ stacked roster that won the Super Bowl took a hit on day one of free agency, with the losses of studs like Josh Sweat (to the Arizona Cardinals), Milton Williams (to the New England Patriots), and Darius Slay (to the Pittsburgh Steelers).
Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is also on the move, as he was unexpectedly traded to the Houston Texans for a guard and a draft pick.
Of course, fans can rest assured the team is in good hands. After all, in his first year with the Eagles, Roseman helped flip a 4-12 team into division champs.
Nevertheless, any time a team loses key players, there’s concern. Roseman and the rest of the Eagles are now tasked with determining the best way to mitigate their losses; however, do they have much to do, or has the Roseman magic already been performed?
What Positions Will Eagles Address?
It’s worth noting that each Eagles player who has now left the team via free agency had a key player step up during important moments last year, particularly in the postseason.
Generally, this means the Eagles are unlikely to miss these outgoing players very much. However, why then does Johnson believe it’s “Howie SZN?”
With Sweat, Williams, CJGJ, Slay, and possibly others gone, it’s obvious that the Eagles have some areas to address.
Currently, the team could be looking to add an edge rusher, defensive back, offensive lineman, defensive tackle, or linebacker at any time, so is it one of these positions that Johnson has in mind?
Roseman was reportedly trying to make a huge splash for Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett prior to his extension, giving an idea of the kind of blockbuster that the Eagles GM may be trying to pull off. Could Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson be his next target?
Currently, there’s no way to know whether Johnson has some inside knowledge of Roseman’s plan or if his cryptic message was nothing more than a shout-out during what has historically been a time that Roseman and the Eagles have shined.
