Saquon Barkley proved how he is a superstar on the field, and off it, he’s making every effort to prove that he is a devoted dad who knows exactly where his priorities lie. Instead of attending the prestigious Maxwell Football Club Awards, where he was honored with the Bert Bell Award for Player of the Year, Barkley chose to spend the night at a daddy-daughter dance with his six-year-old daughter, Jada.

The dance was originally scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, which already clashed with a pretty important event, where Barkley and the Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs in a 40-22 victory to secure his first Lombardi Trophy. When the dance was rescheduled to the same night as the Maxwell Awards, Barkley didn’t flinch.
“We had a daddy-daughter dance the same day as the Super Bowl, but it got canceled,” Barkley shared. “So, she told me last night on FaceTime when it got canceled that she definitely wants me to win the Super Bowl more now.”

He made sure that Jada’s wish was granted and that he wouldn’t miss out on either milestone. He pre-recorded his acceptance speech the week before in Malvern, ensuring he could still thank the people who helped him along the way while being there for his daughter.
“I want to say thank you to everyone that came to support,” Barkley said in the video. “But also, I wouldn’t be able to win this award without the help of my teammates, especially the boys in the front, my O-line, and everyone from the Eagles organization that gave me this opportunity.”
Barkley’s love for his daughter has been clear since day one. He once said,
“I’m just honored and blessed that I have a daughter in Jada and be able to enter fatherhood. I always gotta try to set the standard for her because her image of a man is gonna be off of me.”
Winning the Bert Bell Award is no small feat. Given to the professional football Player of the Year, the honor places Barkley in the company of Eagles legends like Jalen Hurts, Michael Vick, and Randall Cunningham. However, skipping the ceremony for a special night with Jada confirms that his heart is just as big as his talent.
Whether he’s barreling through defenders or twirling his daughter around a dance floor, Saquon proves time and time again that he’s a class act and his family outshines any trophy.
